I just submitted BOTH diagnostics...

I disconnected EVERYTHING, then booted up the modem, then the router, then the Apple TV and the the Tivo 4k... now, both WILL NOT connect.... I did submit the diagnostics on both just a few seconds ago... any ideas?

You’re comparing connecting to servers on the internet to connecting to a server on your local network. Connecting to cloud servers won’t have the same issues as internally routing on your network if your network is having issues.

The software is having timeouts while connecting to your Channels DVR Server computer. That means the routing on your network is having issues.

Great, so in plain talk what do I need to do?

I hate to leave you hanging but it’s a bit out of the scope of our software. As you can see it’s not a problem anyone else is having.

Channels does in fact have very liberal timeouts so the fact that your server isn’t being reached in that amount of time points at some serious latency issues on your mesh network.

Mesh networks work great for getting internet around a house, but they do so at the cost of speed and latency. Most people just want to browse Facebook anywhere in their house, and mesh networks do this well. It’s why they’re so popular.

But using a mesh network to drive high bitrate video around the house isn’t really suggested. I personally have always stayed away from them.

Of course, this isn’t even an issue with moving video, your network simply isn’t routing the request to load data fast enough, so that’s really wired.

Is the mac plugged into the network or wireless? If wireless, have you tried using a network cable to see if it gets more stable?
