Channels DVR setup new “Create Pass“

First time posting so I am sorry if this is not in the correct place or method…

I ran into a interesting situation the other day and I am not sure if it can be avoided in the future or not.

I have a “pass” setup to record only new episodes of NCIS. It’s been working perfectly for a while now. But a few weeks back I noticed I was getting a few hours worth of recordings for it at a time. So when I went in to try and figure out what was going on and why this was happening here is what I found. There was a different channel the. The normal CBS playing episodes and they were marking them as new.

So my question is and or maybe it should be a feature request. Is there an option when setting up a pass to have it for both “new episodes” as well as “all episodes” only be recording for one channel? So in this situation I could tell it to only record “new episodes” from channel CBS?

Yes, you can accomplish this on the Channels DVR webUI.

DVR > Passes > click the arrow at the right side of the pass, choose "Advanced."

Add a condition that says "Channel == x"

(where x is the specific CBS channel you want new recordings from)

Here's an example I'm using for 20/20:
