Channels Pauses After Pressing "Skip Commercials" Button in New Release

Same here as well after updating tvOS.

I see now that it's only when the skip button is pressed. I've reproduced this and will look into it.

On tvOS 17, it looks like it's detecting the select button being pressed and calling play/pause, not just selecting the button. This will be difficult to debug and fix as we aren't building with the tvOS 17 SDK yet, and we can't build to tvOS 17 devices from the tvOS 16 SDK, because of how Xcode works.

I'll be looking into it today though to try to get this resolved.

Potential fix is going out now.

Running latest beta with new tvOS. Still has problem.

I am still having the issue as well. Updated to latest channels (stable release 2023.09.15.0559) and iOS 17. Diagnostics submitted.

I still have the issue too.

On AppleTV after pressing Skip commercial, the video pauses. This started with a recent tvOS update. I’m still seeing this issue.

I updated to TVOS 17 and made the reply after about 15 minutes of watching. After watching something in-depth last night, I don’t have trouble FF or going back… what I noticed is that when the commercial skip comes up, and I hit it, it actually pauses the video. I have to hit it again to skip the commercial and it resumes playing. I thought it was just slow to respond, turns out it is pausing the first time I hit commercial skip.

This is still happening for me, as well.

I'm glad it's a bug and not a feature because I really hate it.

Everyone on this thread, that reported it fixed, can you report that it is still fixed?

I don’t quite know what to do next, because the fix was obvious, quick, easy, and reported to have fixed it.

So I don’t exactly understand why it’s still broken for some people. If people could report some of their settings or submit logs after they see it, it would be helpful. Because I’m at a loss.

Still broken for me; Apple TV 4K (first gen) latest release of tvOS. I also deleted and re-installed the app.

If you need something to help diagnose, let me know...because I really, really hate the way it works now.
