maybe start with PrismCast then, at least for now? And ask Claude for help if you get stuck
Or ask here, there are plenty of helpful people sharing their knowledge.

Yeah, I am. You replied to my thread earlier and said it worked, but the channel numbers were messed up.
Correct, I spoke too soon. The channel number was different but it never opened up. I just copied and pasted that string you had posted into channels
Same on Optimum TVE. No CNN but the other Turner stations all work. Devastating blow
It is a devastating blow. My only CNN recording means (NON channels) is a Cablecard which sends it sstream via plex to my local hard drive for recording. .This is at a remote location that I can remote desktop into
Only a matter of time until Cablecards are discontinued totally or DRM'd
No, the source of CNN is always the same (the website stream). It doesn't matter who your provider is (Cable company, OTT company, CNN directly). How Channels works is that it logs into the website with your credentials, finds the stream, and redirects it. Either the stream that is being offered right now is not compatible with Channels or Channels needs to be updated to handle what is being offered.
Otherwise, you have to either grab the webpage on its is face (PrismCast) or/and grab the output of a streaming dongle (HDMI Encoder through ADBTuner, Roku Bridge, perhaps a few other options that have recently come out). Nothing more can be done.
Thank you
Hi. I am just trying to ask a more general question about this issue. Does this seem highly unusual, as in, have users seen this kind of Turner-related snag before, and has it been solved by some application update, or does something like this require some other kind of dev effort (by Turner, CNN or???). IOW, how screwed might this be for the near or long term? Thanks, I am coming at this from a very lay perspective so be nice to me. I would guess there isn't much incentive for the content provider to fix this.
I am having the same problem on FIOS. I cannot re-add my TVE.
I think just like 6032 (CNN International) 6030 (CNN Domestic) is gone, it will not come back on its own unfortunately as CNN expands its digital footprint
Just curious has anyone on TVE ever gotten MS Now?
Sorry for the consultant answer, but...
"It depends."
If the technology is completely not compatible (i.e., DRM - Digital Rights Management) there is nothing the Channels Devs can do. If it is just a matter of re-pointing to an updated link, the Channels Devs can and have done such updates in the past. If we as users cannot stream on their website, then it's on the provider side and they have to fix it; there is nothing anyone else can do. Given that we can do the latter, it is one of the two first things, most likely the first, so we're SOL for the default method, but perfectly fine for every other method.
This was DRM'd three years ago...
It stayed that way then it spun off as part of Versant. The solution for MS NOW is the same one as CNN.
New to TVE and was curious Thankyou for explaining !
Just deleted TV Everwhere as a source. CNN was my main want. What's done is done
Well, you could buy a Sling TV subscription and then add a network encoder (such as a $130 Link PI ENC3) and supported streaming stick (ONN 4k Streaming box works well) to the network the Channels DVR server is on and then utilize the ADBTuner Channels project to tune the streaming stick and record CNN to your Channels server. I haven't followed them in a while, but I believe there are at least two projects that are software only that do the same thing.
Whenever I want to watch cable news channels, I just use my Directv app. I can record every news show on CNN, MSNow, and Fox every day. I need to manually skip ads, but otherwise I don't see where Channels DVR is better. My wife really likes the Directv app for all her different shows. She has her own profile so our stuff doesn't mix. I mainly just use Channels DVR for my HDHomerun tuners. I just use TVE as a bonus.
Record to your PC?
Years ago it was available (MSNBC) via TVE.
Any good IPTV providers that allow for multiple simultaneous stream recording in Channels?
CNN and MS Now a must
Silly question but if I took out a YouTube TV package it would work inside channels correct?
And it would include MS now CNN and CNN international?
This is my most important question if the answer is yes to the above. Would I be able to record multiple streams using the DVR function simultaneously?
I am not concerned about local channel CBS ABC or NBC
Thank you so much in advance!
