Comedy Central TVE issues with Hybrid Encoder ATV Shield

Comedy Central keeps freezing and also causing the app to close out back to the guide.
Log says

I reload the channel and it works for a bit then quits again.

How long before problems? I have it running.

Edit: Had it running for the last 20 minutes with no hiccup.

pretty much immediately upon loading it.
seems to do it most when commercials hit and and then it goes back to the show, it closes out.

that yelow pulsating BRB comerical break screen then everytime i load the channel i get that. then when that closes, and it switches to show, it crash back to guide, and the top of guide to.

i have beta app 2.1.21.beta-v103122200 and 2020.03.10.1810 server

I am as well.... again no issues.

I don't have Tuner sharing enabled though. I can check it that way but it shouldn't matter.

The tuner sharing setting is only for HDHomeRun tuners. All TVE/Locast streams always go through the DVR server.

i am using Hybrid for the Encoder though. as have to inorder for certain SD 480i channels to play right.

ANd no turner sharing.

and it does it repetitively
I have submitted diagnotics a few times
i forget how to pull the deivce logs

i thought that software and hybrid were supposed to be less buggy.

edit. and it most certain the commercials that it is freaking out on , i cant load it for more than 10 secs during a commercial break

EDIT 2. putting it back to Hardware, seems to play good again.

So something must have changed recently to cause this. sever or app update.

i reverted to stable ATV app 2.1.20, and that does the same thing.
Show plays fine, it goes to commercial, they play, but the commercials just before the transition back to show, play back just freezes for 2 secs, then the app closes, to reopen to the very top of the guide.

Something is broken?

Works fine with Hardware or Software Decoder set.

EDIT: Ok.... I have noticed that there is a set of commercials in each break that are super low res/quality, like 360p or less, heavy pixelated and blury, then it goes back to HD. The switch to the lower res commercial is where Hybrid crashes.

Can this be fixed?

Maybe related...

Watching Discovery via TVE and when i goes to commericals, the app is freezing to buffer, the it is just frozen, a few times, it just show a black screen no audio.

I am using Hardware decoder at this time on my Shield Pro..

Also noticed, that if i pause the channel for a bit, let the buffer fill up a bit, and then seek past the commercials, it freezes at that point in the timeline where it would if watching live.

For TVE issues it's necessary to look at the dvr log since the dvr server is what handles the TVE auth and stream
