Commercial detection during replay hangs/pauses on AppleTV

I was able to record a little video of this behavior when it happened!

Also submitted diagnostics immediately (as can be seen in above video!)

@tmm1 any thoughts on this?

If you go back and try to skip the commercial again, does it happen every time?

I will check next time it happens (Have that show set to delete for every other day).

But my gut says no, going back it skips the commercial just fine (FWIW)

No. Its not repeatable.
As a sidebar issue, the timeline cursor 3 out of 5 times returns to the zero point.

I wonder if it's some legacy debugging code that can't write and thus blocks?

Ok, an update after this happened again. If you go back prior to the commercials after it hangs the first time it seems to completely disregard the commercial detection, but if you leave the show and then resume it will hang again, see the video below for the behavior:

Interesting.

I fixed an issue like this in v5.2.3 which was released today

Have you been using v5.2.2 or the betas?

I'm running 2022.02.03.2057, will try today's beta.

That's the server version. This is a client issue.

Ah, I'm running the latest regular AppleTV release (no testflight / beta)

Latest doesn't tell me if you're running v5.2.2 or v5.2.3

Apologies, just checked, it's 5.2.2

Will update and see how it goes

Nope, same behavior:

Please recreate and submit diagnostics from the app immediately after.

If you have that recording which reproduces the issue, please send it to us: Dropbox - Submit files

Can you point me at the commercial detection file?

hm?

The issue is not really related to commercial detection.

I need you to click in the app: Settings > Support > Submit Diagnostics, right after it freezes up in the player.

Ok, done (submitted), and here's the vid of me doing so:

Thanks. I would like that maddow recording so I can reproduce locally and fix it.

Can you also confirm if you change Settings > Playback > Advanced > Audio Driver: Default that it works correctly.
