configure your router to TCP port 8089 to 26.160.227.187 how do i do this? I have an optimum router
Find the model number and then search google for "model number port forward"
I am going to try that now. it says port 8089 is closed how do I open it?
By forwarding the port on your router
how do I do this on a navida shield or its the same as on a computer because you are doing it on the router. and the router is a
Altice Smart Router. I tried google it but there is nothing for Altice Smart Router.
On the ChannelsDVR web page, next to Port Forwarding, did you try clicking the "Automatic" button?
yes it worked for awhile then i got a failed message and now it wont forward automatically. I also switched from a computer to a navida shield. What is better using a computer or the navida shield
what else can I do?
I don't need the shield repaired I just need to know how to get channels to work remotely. It works internally.
Did you try this page?
https://account.suddenlink.net/router-portal/overview.html
It’s for your router. Pay them, they help you.
More and more isp’s are locking down functions of the isp supplied routers. Call your isp and tell them to forward the port to the server ip from their end and if they won’t, go buy your own router and call your isp back and tell them to put your modem/ router combo into Bridge mode(assuming the altice is a combo unit). What is the model number of the altice smart router?
what is that page?
It is supposed to let you change your router settings there.
I tried to log in and it won't let me. I checked the settings on the router the internal and external are 8089.
yes
the right url should be something like this 67.85.165.122:8089 for the external
