Trying out the Directv streaming service MyEntertainment for $35. It is a slim package without most sports, but does have some cable news channels. It also includes Hulu and Disney Basic services, and will add Max Basic. Currently I use Philo, mostly because wife requirements. This new service has all the channels my wife requires, but is missing some of the Philo channels. Directv connected easily with Channels TVE. So far, I am liking it.
Michael, do you have a link to a website that describes that package? I looked yesterday for the 'skinny' stuff mentioned in another thread but the only $35 option I could find was a Spanish package. The rest of the skinny packages that made any sense were $55 to $70 it seemed.
Are all their channels TVE available on Channels, or not totally accessible?
Of course, not all the channels available in the app are TVE capable, but I think all the channels that are Channels DVR TVE capable are available. Even some Disney children's and ESPN sports channels are showing up in TVE, but not in the Directv app.
Looks like Directv has now removed TVE service for the channels that should not have been available. Oh well thought I was going to get some nice bonus channels, but they figured it out. Still is the cheapest way for me to get some cable news channels. Although I probably should stop watching the news.
I've been trying this new DirecTv package for a week now. At first, it took several tries to get it to authenticate. Once it was authenticated, some channels worked fine, while others would not scan via DirecTV, but worked fine via Spectrum. I had hoped to save around $100 per month with this service, but I cannot not get Discovery or History to scan on DirecTV, so I'll have to stay with Spectrum.
