Disconnected from hdhomerun

I don't think it is happening with tve after all seems to be only OTA.

This is still happening. How can I open an official ticket?

Logs show a network problem between your shield and hdhr.

Streamer: read error: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

You can try enabling Settings > Playback -> Advanced > Tuner Sharing

Tuner Sharing is already enabled. It is happening as we speak, i am submitting diagnostics, can you please have a look to see if you can spot anything?

Sorry, didn't see your reply about a network error. I am unsure why this would only effect OTA though... TVE seems fine, watchign a recorded video seems fine.

Like I said the network issue is between the client/DVR and your HDHR. TVE doesn't use the HDHR and isn't affected.

If the HDHR and DVR NAS are not plugged into the same physical switch then they should be. Otherwise maybe you have a bad cable.

I do hear what you are saying, but i can watch the HDHR using the live channels on the same shield without a freeze. I also do not see an issue using a firestick (with the channels app). I will replace the cable from HDHR and see if it helps..

With Live channels the shield connects to the HDHR directly.

With Channels since you have tuner sharing, the shield connects to the NAS which connects to the HDHR.

If the first works then you can try turning off the shield or checking the connection between the dvr and HDHR.

Are the dvr and HDHR connected to different ports on the same physical switch or router?

I have tried with the shield both ways Tuner Sharing off and on... no difference. Disabled surround sound. Using software decoder. Turned off dolby on the shield... just trying anything right now.

The HDHR and NAS are both connected to the same physical switch.

So I just did an experiment.. both the firestick and shield are using channels with tuner sharing enabled. My wife is in the bedroom watching channel 12.3. So I tuned to this channel... should use the same tuner since tuner sharing is enabled, yes? Mine is frozen...... hers is still playing... If the hdhr was the issue I would expect her to be having issues as well....

How is the shield connected to the network?

wireless..

I was connected to 5ghz with 160mhz enabled. Since you pointed out a potential network issue, i connected to the 5ghz AP that does not have 160mhz enabled (since i have had a couple other devices with issues on that band)... same issue.

Last diagnostics shows a hard crash in the software decoder.

Dvr logs show a lot of signal errors so maybe that's crashing the nvidia decoder.

[SNR] Statistics for ch12.1 WPRI-HD: ss=87% snq=76%,62%-85% seq=72%,0%-100% bps=7524619,0-13653312 pps=714,0-1296 sigerr=28%

[SNR] Statistics for ch10.4 TBD: ss=89% snq=100% seq=0% bps=0 pps=0 sigerr=100%

Is there anything i can do about this?

Improve your antenna so the signal is better?

Well the signal is worse today because it is snowing here. nothing i can do at the moment. Just weird that this is the only app on the shield with an issue..

So i just submitted another round of diags. I am watching fox OTA typically i get 100% signal and quality. I was getting 100% when it froze. the connection dropped so I cannot see the exact signal strength at the point of disconnect. Can you tell me if this had signal errors in the logs as well please.

The SNR logs I posted are available on the Log tab of your dvr web UI. Doesn't look like any signal issues on 64.2

Ok, so why did that freeze?

Looks like you double clicked the play/pause to change channels to 6044 and then it crashed?

Sounds similar to Double play tap eventually crashes app (beta)
