DVR Finds No Tuners

I have subscribed and setup DVR. DVR does not, however, find any of my tuners. I have a HDHomeRun Extend v2. Both Apple TVs find the HDHomeRun fine. DVR is installed on a Synology. I have restarted the DVR service on the Synology, and I have also rebooted the HDHomeRun.

I read the thread referenced VirtualBox network settings (DVR does not find my tuners (VirtualBox network settings)), but that doesn’t seem to apply to my issue.

Does the Apple TV app detect the DVR?

@tmm1: No, it tells me to go to the IP address to finish setup.

Ok so it does detect that the DVR is installed and needs to be setup.

It’s weird that the ATV and HDHRs can talk to the each other, and the ATV and DVR can talk to each other, but the DVR and HDHR can’t.

Did you try on the web interface to rescan the network for tuners?

And did the Channels app on ATV find the tuners automatically when you first set it up, or did you have to enter the ip manually?

I have tried rescanning for tuners in the web interface. I have also restarted the DVR service on the Synology.

The Channels app finds the HDHR automatically on both Apple TVs & iOS devices.

In the DVR web interface, I have checked all options and setup the storage location. Says 0 tuners detected.

What is the IP of the hdhomerun and IP of the NAS?

The NAS IP is 192.168.1.141, & the HDHR IP is 192.168.1.101.

When getting the IP address of the tuner, I noticed there was a firmware update available for the HDHR Extend v2. Installing it did not correct the issue.

Ok thanks. It sounds like I might need to put a “add tuner manually” option on the DVR. I should be able to do that tomorrow.

Thank you for the update.

Are you able to SSH into the Synology?

Try running ping 192.168.1.101 to verify it is able to talk to your HDHR.

Yes, I am able to SSH into my Synology, and I receive confirmation when I ping the HDHR.

Do you still plan to release an update with a manual option for finding HDHR units?

Yes, I finished implementing this feature but wasn’t able to push out an update because I lost power due to a storm.

New build is now available. Click “check for update” on the web admin Settings tab. After the upgrade you will see the new Add Tuner Manually option in the drop down near the hdhomeruns.

That worked, but my DVR lineup source isn’t listed. I’m looking for Time Warner Cable (Clear QAM) in 47648. I can choose that on Apple TVs, but it isn’t available on DVR.

We are using a new guide database for DVR so none of the custom clearqam profiles exist.

What are some of your channel numbers?

5090, 5039, 5040, 5032, 5042, 5030, 14.1, 25.1, 7.1, 5081, 44.1, 47.1, 9.1, 5101, 5029, 5031

Are the custom QAM profiles going to be added to the new database?
