You can run the fix now and it won’t upgrade to the broken version:
cd channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest

Will this mess up my current recordings?
Recommend that everyone runs the fix command ASAP.
That did it. Thanks. Resetting everything back up from scratch again now.
Going to repeat, this is the best way to fix your setup if your server upgraded. If you do this it will downgrade to the known working version and you will not lose any data. Run this command over SSH or in Terminal:
On macOS or Linux:
cd channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest
On WD:
cd /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog/ChannelsDVR/channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest
On QNAP:
cd /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/ChannelsDVR/channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest
On Synology:
cd /volume1/@appstore/ChannelsDVR/channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest
On unRAID:
cd /mnt/user/channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest
There seems to be an additional line you accidentally added into the command for the QNAP. Once we’ve done this, is there anything we need to do to restart the server? I’ve run the command, but still cannot access the web UI or via ATV.
Ran the fix but I am still seeing waiting to upgrade
That’s fine. If you ran the command you are safe.
Fixed.
You can try turning the server off and on from the QNAP app store.
+1 Waiting to upgrade how to stop that on UnRaid?
Thank you.
Running the command after turning off the sever via the app store, then turning the server back on seemed to do the trick. Thanks!
On unRAID:
cd /mnt/user/channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest
Ran fix on Mac mini, got DVR restored. Looks like it missed recording a show tonight; need to investigate more; but thanks for the help!
Yikes. I restarted the DVR from the old build and now it doesn’t recognize my recordings! And all my passes are gone! Is there a way to manually restore this info? Tried unchecking then rechecking the DVR box and it didn’t do anything.
What commands did you run? If you ran the old build manually that’s not going to work.
Oh dang that’s what I did. Sorry I’m confused now, tried a couple commands in this thread but it didn’t restart my DVR. Is there another step to restart it?
The fix on macOS is:
cd channels-dvr && ln -nsf 2017.01.14.0019 latest
It should come up automatically once you do that.
If not, run:
~/channels-dvr/uninstall.sh
sleep 2
~/channels-dvr/install.sh
Although this would not have made a difference for me… (since I would be in the “cutting edge” group… but maybe add an option of a tiered autoupdate? It may be a nightmare to manage… but just a thought…
with manual update updating to the latest mode selected…
Thanks
Hey everyone, we’ve posted a post mortem explaining what happened, and how to fix it.
It also has a link to a specific support thread just for this issue. Please continue posting there.
I’m going to close this thread for now.
