FastChannels - FAST Channels aggregator/manager

by chance, did that feed NOT have any non-gracenote channels?

All of the Channels I had selected from The Roku Channel Source are non-gracenote channels.
In other words, I have no Gracenote matches on any of the channels in that feed.

got ya.. i think I know what happened here - i'll add some defensive steps to prevent that in next version. tnx for report.

The interesting thing is that many of the other feeds I successfully added were non-gracenote sets of channels as well. The only difference here was that it was exclusively Roku non-gracenote channels.

First off thanks for such a great tool. This will allow me to get rid of several Docker containers and centrally manage all my channels in one place.

With that said I have a question. Sorry if this has been already asked. For Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus where you can configure multiple regions, is there a way to see and/or filter what region a particular channel is coming from? With my previous Docker containers, I would configure a separate M3U list for each region so I could see which channels were on each region. It mainly let me see what additional channels were available in that region to let me determine if I wanted to keep that region or not. If no such option exists, would it be possible to add it?

Thanks!

I would love to be able to specify regions on the LG Channels source, if possible.

I already gather the region info during scrape for Pluto and Samsung. But I haven’t done anything with it.

My main goal is whole project is to keep things simple. I’m not completely opposed to this request, but I want to think through the lens of how can I keep it simple and not overwhelm people when they set it up new. Let me think through the best way to do this.

Any thoughts on supporting multiple DVR servers?
It would be nice to be able to place feeds and edits all in one shot but I do understand that this might be too much to ask for.

what do you mean multiple DVR servers?

Pretty sure he's talking about this.

I haven't used it, so don't need it for my seven CDVR servers :grinning:

Yes list multiple DVR servers in the web UI settings

Thanks. Right now, I am just adding one region, seeing what channels there are, then I reset the source, add the next region, and so on. It's a bit cumbersome but it works. Ideally, I could add all the regions and then filter on each region. That would be quicker. This would also help me find duplicates between regions of the same source, similar to your function to finding duplicates between sources.

Another possible solution would be to add a region column under the Channels tab/view including being able to sort by that column. Maybe it could be next to Lang? That would also solve my problem.

Thanks again for all of the great work!

I could swear in the previous versions you could override Language for a Channel?
I did so for some es that showed as en, but the latest version doesn't allow an override?

Excellent work for a Project that's less than 2 weeks old!

For me Metadata is King.

I don't have time to channel surf thousands of channels to see what's on.
I have certain shows or episodes of shows I want to watch or record.

It doesn't necessarily mean that it's on a certain source, channel or fits into a certain (per source defined) genre. There are some channels I know that will most likely have the shows I want to watch. I accidentally found the first episode of Dragnet (which has been on my pass for 3+ years) on a religious channel.

I sometimes try to discover new shows on these FAST channels and I like being able to manipulate my sources, channels and feeds with FastChannels.

Great job on this Project!

It would be nice to get a description/summary of a channel for those I'm unfamiliar with (and channels are added/removed almost every day).

Ya you’re crazy. But it was pretty straightforward to add that Category override so I’ll add that for Language.

Red Dwarf is on BBC Sci-Fi but it's also on BBC Comedy. A category override would have worked but I may want a Comedy feed at a later date. So, I added the Comedy category to my Sci-Fi Feed then removed all the other comedy channels. :man_shrugging:t3:

how bout this?

That looks perfect!

Yes — I tried it. The LG Channels API rejects non-US country codes with a 500 error, so we hardcoded US and removed the region setting entirely. LG is US-only from their API's perspective.
