my bad I just thought you planned to get rid of scroll bar on all of it.
Not to mention the X is on top of the Apply All button. Got to be careful when clicking there.
I think we're all getting spoiled!
lol I noticed that earlier too. Already fixed for next update.
Thanks. What I don't know about Docker can fill the entire Internet
We were all there at one time. None of us were born knowing everything.
I didn't even know what Docker was before I created my first Docker Container for Channels DVR Server.
There is so much information out there now. Videos, tutorials, Docker References, AI Assistants, etc.
I just finally became motivated enough to investigate and learn enough to get by.
First, thanks so much! I just started playing with it, and it seems amazing.
One small issue. It seems like my Gracenote channels are getting assigned channel numbers that are also assigned to my non gracenote channels.
For example I have two channel 1044:
- to catch a smuggler channel
- forensic files channel
This causes the guide data to be weird. Right now in channels both listing show the Catch a Smuggler data. If I tune in it works fine and each shows what it should.
Am I doing something wrong or did I miss a step?
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. I set my Master Channel start number at 10000. I guess that is where Gracenote channels slot in. I changed my Master Channel to 9000 and it seems fixed. Leaving this here incase someone else runs across the same issue.
Having an issue with non-unique channel-id across feeds.
For the channels that have gracenote ID's, you're outputting the gracenote ID in the m3u as both
tvc-guide-stationid (correct) and channel-id (not good).
channel-id should be a unique value for every channel.
That's no bueno! Try 2.8.2 i just pushed pls
Thanks. Feed outputs look good in v2.8.2
I'll do a full delete and rebuild guide database after a couple recordings finish (channels numbers will probably change).
After doing the full delete and rebuild guide database most of the gracenote channel numbers changed. So I had to change some passes that used channel numbers.
@speedingcheetah will be hearing from his Mom again
this is fairly new to me. i'm using Tivimate
is there a simple m3u playlist i can add to see what this is like?
Once you setup FASTChannels, yes, there is a Default feed (that includes ALL enabled channels) with url you can add to what ever you want. Or you can create your own feeds to include the sources/channels etc you want.
But, there can be many thousands of channels by default if you enable many sources. A lot are duplicates depending on what sources you enable.
So...why did the numbers change?
Far as I was told, and had configured, they would not change if I had set FAST and Channels to start at a pre-set number.
Pluto (no gracenote) has not changed.
Set to start at 2000. (In FAST and Channels)
47 channels.
There are channels 2000 to 2046.
Nothing changed here.
Pluto(gracenote) changed.
Set to start at 2047. (in Channels)
16 Channels.
There are channels 2047 to 2062.
These now show in Channels as 2063 to 2078.
(Going to change the GN playlist tuner to start at 3000 in Channels, to make it easier to tell which is which)
I have a manually made .txt doc of chan# / Name for each tuner source to keep track.
And...now all my Gracenote channels are not showing in the guide on my server...says no channels match. But the Source says there are channels....grr.
He had the channel-id in the feed m3u set to the gracenote station ID. It should instead be a unique alpha/numeric id for each channel.
Channels DVR uses the channel-id to assign channel numbers when you say ignore ch# in m3u.
He then fixed the channel-id in the feed m3u in v2.8.2.
The channel-id in the feed m3u should always be the same for a given channel on a given source.
And it should be different (unique) for the same channel name on different sources. Even if the program schedule is the same (same gracenote station ID).
That way the channel number in CDVR won't change.
Well. idk what just happened.
But GN feed channels are just gone on my server.
Guide says No Channels Match when I select the Source in the Guide drop down menu.
They say no longer exist in Channels Collections as well.
I have used the options in Channels to Delete and Recreate database, and reload ..m3u.
But they will not show up now.
But they show in the Sources Channel Lineup in Channels when I open the line up for the tuner.
EDIT: I dumb....had the option set to show FAVORITES only on the Guide, not All Channels.
Channel number changes, I guess, reset Favorites.

Doing a Delete and Recreate guide database will refresh the m3u for all your sources, download XMLTV EPG and download 16 days gracenote guide data again. You just have to watch and see when it's finished.
Is there a rate limit/timeout one can hit with this?
If I do it too much in a short period of time, will it start being blocked or time out by Gracenote?
No. Pretty sure it pulls from a Fancy Bits server (tmsdata.fancybits.co).
If you abuse it you'll hear from the devs.
I cringe everytime I make a change to a source and do it, knowing I have to wait after every change for it to download the full 16 days. If I add 6 sources with gracenote station ID's, after saving each one it automatically gets gracenote guide data, so it ends up doing it 6 times, once for each source.
Minor request, and apologies if I missed it but could we get an option to manage display for either Light, Dark or System Default? Thanks! Very nice tool. Has made things much simpler for me.
I have a feature request/improvement. When detecting channel duplicates, can you update the logic for the following items:
- Ignore case. In other words, "AX MEN" should be seen as a duplicate to "Ax Men".
- Ignore "by xxxx" in title. In other words, "Ax Men by History" should be a duplicate of "Ax Men".
Thanks!
