FastChannels - FAST Channels aggregator/manager

To be clear on Amazon/Sling -- they will likely only play on Desktop Chome. They are DRM sources and only authorized devices (ie Chrome) can play them. They'll never play on CDVR without using PrismCast/Chrome Capture. That's why I added Prismcast output M3U.

My thought was if you can get the stream(s) to load on your Chrome with the full-screen built-in Shaka player, you could then interface with Prismcast/Chrome Capture. I truly haven't tested it as my Prismcast isn't working, but thought one of y'all would be interested in hacking it together.

Know there is a lot of good information here. But am not going to read 1800 pages. Assume that the FAQ is staying up to date to instruct new bees like me?

Welcome.

Yes, the first post has some easy install instructions. And the admin web page (once installed) nudges you on what needs configured.

I’ve tried my best to make this user friendly as possible. Give it an install and holler if you have any questions.

Any advice on how to maintain guide data on non gracenote channels, example the Hallmark source has three channels without gracenote ids and after a couple of days I lose the guide data, just the current viewing show displays, and I have to go back into FC re-scrape and re-add to Channels from the feed page, then reload the M3U on channels for it to populate again. I have few channels in the same boat mostly from Pluto that does the same thing.

to confirm - do you mean you lose guide data on ChannelsDVR?

Do you have every source that uses XMLTV Guide Data refreshing every hour?

If not, some will only refresh once per day during the morning guide refresh.
It's a bug in Channels DVR.

Of course in FC, you have to set the source scrape interval so it scrapes often enough to not run out of guide data.

Yep, have it set to every hour, only occurs on certain channels/sources, Hallmark being one and Pluto channels that appear to not having a Gracenote match. But when it does happen, I have to go through the whole process of re scraping and re adding to channels to get it back.

Yes, on channels guide, on clients. I will only see the current show in guide, or just the channel name in the guide as a one row, no additional data (example Scorpion channel on Pluto, will just have scorpion on that row with no additional time separation in the guide) but a rescape and re-adding Pluto feed appears to fix it, until it doesn’t display again.

i think try what @chDVRuser suggested.. OR, even better-- if you have this setup properly, FastChannels will automatically refresh your feeds in CDVR using their API (assuming you used the auto Add to Channels DVR button from feeds).

For all Channels DVR sources that uses XMLTV Guide Data ?

Yes Sir, I went through that a few weeks back, have them all set for 1 hour, and the FastChannel settings is on auto-refresh guide data hourly. I do have all my sources set for 120 minutes for the scrape schedule on FC.

Click on the channel name in FastChannels

to see how much guide data it has scraped for it. I think it's including the listing 00s Replay tomorrow at 12:30 PM, listed as 11 hrs 30 min duration in its calculation of 35.4 hrs

For that channel it shows listings to 10am tomorrow in Channels DVR

Guide tab in FastChannels shows the same

So I know mine are in sync.

Yea I checked one problem channel, it showed 22.8 hours of programs, and appears to end on my channels guide at 10am WED, just not sure why it gets out of sync, and just stops providing after a day or two and then I have to scrape and re add to get back to displaying. Thanks, didn’t know I could do a deep dive with FC for some clarity, but I still puzzled.

Have you looked at the logs for CDVR and FC to see if guide data updates are happening?

In the FC logs, look for "pushed guide refresh".

In the CDVR logs, look for "Fetched guide data".

@KineticMan - I just noticed that the FC logs say it is pushing guide data for my Music feed. This is a feed I have defined in FC but have never (intentionally) configured in CDVR.

yea i have no way to determine if a feed is setup in CDVR, so it blindly sends a refresh API to call the current feeds. It doesn't harm anything so I just let it hit all them.

I see the fetch guide data on the Channels Dvr log, don’t exactly see the pushed guide refresh on FC, will have to relook closely throughout the days…

You can easily see when FC scrapes your sources. Just put the source name in the logs filter

Is this how you guys organize your feeds? I have like 12 feeds.

I don't love it but this is what I have for now.
