Fox @ 4k HDR

I don't think you need to add the MAX_RESOLUTION variable anymore because the default behavior is to go for the highest/best:

Unless you need to select HDR, but I'm just not familiar enough to know if this is a good idea or not.

I used UHD/HDR for the World Cup. It worked, but on my TV with an Apple TV 4K it didn't automatically switch my TV to HDR mode like some apps do with HDR content. The colors looked horrible. If I went to the Apple TV settings prior to launching Channels and switched the video format to HDR the colors looked correct. It looked great.

Thanks, all. I should be ready then - guess I know for sure on Saturday. For anyone who hasn't set this up yet, the E+ docker is easy to set up and add as a Channels source. I would recommend reading the docs on GitHub first.

You can actually test at 6:30 PM EST today. FS1 has a 4k/hdr event.

I'm to test the Minnesota at Ohio State game through Channels TVE (not eplustv). I'm getting 403 GeoBlocked. It works fine from the Fox Sports app.

I just tried on my ATV. I get 4k HDR on the fox sports app but with channels on FS1 still 720p

I'm getting 720p as well in Channels

Same. 720p60 in channels and refusing to load at all in eplus.

If anyone has the Android TV fox sports app, can you check if there's surround sound coming from that app?

Yup, my shiny new HLS proxy is breaking because of how FOX is handling their 4K streams. I'm going to have to change it

I tested it on my brand new A95k Bravia which is Google TV. It has HDR but no surround. I have tested on Google TV, Roku, Apple TV. I have yet to see 5.1 audio anywhere after 4 years of testing.

Where did you see these claims?

From here. I have even placed a few support calls about it. Fox claims they do it. I don't know anyone who has actually seen it work. Fox's support is very bad regarding the issue.

Yup. Thanks me too. Its a shame about the audio.

LOL, this is so funny. The Fox apps can't even get HDR to work on the Apple TV.

Playing on iOS works too!

Playing great on FireTV switched to HDR mode... this is awesome even though the audio sucks.

Interesting it picks the 720 stream when you are remote transcoding to 4MB.
Can’t get it to play back from library
App crashed attempting library playback
