Fully replacing drive on Raspberry PI server

I'm running my Channels server on a Raspberry PI with an external 2TB HD and want to replace it with a 2TB SSD (hard drive grinding noises are driving me crazy)

I see lots of guidance for doing this when moving between computers but not on the same computer.

Do I need to just start from scratch, installing on the new drive and then somehow copy the data? IF so, any guidance is appreciated.

does this guide help?

I don't use it, but the answer is probably here Channels Support - Raspbery Pi Installation or here BETA: Channels DVR Server for Raspberry Pi 4 (USB BOOT IMAGE)

Thanks @KineticMan and @chDVRuser

The gap that I was able to cross was HOW to copy the recordings. What I did was

  1. Shut down Channels Server (with old hard drive)
  2. Create a new Raspberry Pi image (following helpful Channels documentation) on SD card
  3. Connect new hard drive to Raspberry PI and setup with new drive
  4. Shut down the new server
  5. Take new drive AND old drive and connect both to my MacBook Air
  6. Copy entirety of DVR folder from old hard drive to new hard drive (took 10ish hours)
  7. Connect new hard drive to Raspberry Pi and follow the restore procedures
  8. Done
