Graphic overlay when captions is on?

I've been having this issue ever since I started using channels. But luckily this issue never happens in my most watched channel. But when I switch to other channels it almost always happens.
When the captions are on. There these lives of graphics from the menu and guide covering the picture.
At least I figured out that if I turn off the captions it will go away. But that leaves me with basically not able to use the captions on most channels.

Is anyone else having this issue?? I can't believe that in the only one having this

Your image looks like macroblocking. If so, to me this indicates your signal has issues.

Perhaps you can share some details and log entries at the same time these visual issues occur ...

Naaa, it's not signal issues. It goes away when I turn off captions. It's graphics from the guide overlayed

Well, more actual technical details would help. But, still based upon your single picture and limited input, I offer this:

Your hardware (whichever device Channels is running on, likely some Amazon or no-name Android device) cannot handle decoding the video stream, the caption stream (CC, CEA-608/708, TTML), and the audio stream.

You can change the decoder/driver used, which may help. But otherwise, you need to offer details.

First of all! I didn't direct this post to YOU! I was talking to the developers, you know the ones that could fix it.
If they ask for more details I'll gladly provide.

And as for my cheap Amazon device. It's a Channel Master Stream+. While it is a few years old already. And running a old version of Android. I still don't think it qualifies as cheap Amazon knockoff. Or whatever else you called it.

I don't think @racameron was implying you have a cheap device. He was only trying to help.
He is right though that the more details you provide the more likely you will get an answer (not necessarily from the developers)

This is community support. If you want 1:1 with developers email support directly. Don't chastise someone for asking you questions...

You literally just proved his point that it is probably hardware related.

Yea, that’s crap.

He always has been responding to every post I've made here. With a obnoxious nasty atitude.
I just don't wanna put up with that every time i post a issue here.
And as for the rest of you, i didn't ask any of you how to properly use this forum. I use it as i see fit.
And no, i will not stand or take his nasty insulting atitude. No matter what you all think or say.

And to clarify. No i didn't intend to personally message the developers alone, i am aware this is a community form, and I'd be happy to accept HELP from anyone here offering it. But not comments meant to put down, or make yourself feel big. Sorry but not me

Even if the answer to my problem is that it's my hardware. THAT isn't the way to say it. OH.... YOU PROBABLY HAVE SOME CHEAP AMAZON OR NO NAME DEVICE. Well channel master IS a name, and they didn't sell on Amazon. So...... wrong on both counts, even if he is right about his point (that it is my hardware.)
Had he stated it respectably I'd of gotten the point AND appreciated the help. As he put it though, i got the point. But DID NOT appreciate this kind of help.

Thanks for confirming. Now i know. Lol
I'm sure as a Mets fan you're well educated on the meaning of the word crap. So I'll take your word for it.
(Haaaaa, sorry as a Yankees fan i just had to. Only kidding)

You're right, he wasn't implying it. He clearly stated it

Nonetheless, @racameron has provided countless solutions to others.
I am sorry you took offence.
May I suggest you buy a newer (more popular) streamer.

Or, maybe see if there's something software side that could be addressed to not require more hardware purchases? It's entirely in the realm of possibility that this is indeed a bug.

But every forum has their white knights, don't they...

I have many other boxes. I just also have these 2 stream+ boxes that I'd love to make use of.

But i have a Fire Tv. A android Tv. A few fire sticks e.t.c e.t.c e.t.c

I just wanted these to work right

Oh well.

And as to him helping many, i couldn't care less. He responds to all my posts with a nasty atitude. A little humility would go far. This kinda help i just don't want

Thats exactly what i was hoping for when posting this. That maybe someone knows some trick to maybe get rid of this bug. But doesn't look like it

Did you try switching to software decoding?

I don't see this option in the settings of the app on this device

On my Nvidia Shield it is in : Settings --> Playback --> Advanced --> Video Decoder

Isn't this where this setting is supposed to be??
I don't see on this android device on neither thre bata app, nor on the regular app.

So i checked the apps on my Fire TV, the bata app also doesn't have it, the regular app does on the Fire TV

But on this android device neither app has it

That's what i thought. Thanks for clarifying
