Green screen when starting 4K movie form channels

I was trying to play 4K Star Wars movies using channels. When the movie is selected as a virtual channel, all I see is a green and there is audio

Also, when staring the movie from the movie section, I see a green screen but I have audio.

Other 4K movies do work. It appears the Star Wars one have issues on FireTv. The same movies works on iPad.

The movie plays correctly with plex, so the movie is good.

Have you tried changing the decoder setting to software or hybrid?

yes, i tried all 3 settings. On software it plays but it is very sluggish and jittery. i think on hybrid it started green then sluggish. it still did not play correctly on hybrid.

Plex may be transcoding the movie and avoiding the problem.

A green screen is most of the time caused by a bad or loose HDMI cable. That would be the first thing I'd check.

Our player is showing some encoding issues in that video file. It's possible we may be able to ignore them in the future.

Plex is playing the movie direct without transcoding it, it plays the raw stream.

I am going to reencode the movies using a different process, maybe that will get rid of the errors.

Interesting...
I'm not sure I would have expected a green screen due to encoding errors...a crash or hang I would have thought to be more likely. Learn something new every day.

Fallback colors are often used to indicate error states in the video pipeline
