How can I use channels in my remote Plex server inside my Channels DVR Server?

I just wish HD home run recorded extreme in native MP4 instead of TS in an MPEG stream

Editing takes a bit longer because if this slight drawback

Other than that no complaints

Silly question but since the HD home run has three qam tuners I am still limited to only three strings from that source correct?

Unless channels reads it differently. I'm not sure I'll have to test it out

Everything is working 100% and without seeming repetitive thank you so much for your patience and your expertise

What I've noticed about this forum there is absolutely no hubris or ego Just knowledge and people willing to share it!

Correct. Three simultaneous streams max. One from each of the three tuners. Assuming your Internet connection and Tailscale can handle the bandwidth.

Glad to hear you’re up and running, sounds like you did exactly what I recommended in my first post by adding a provider with a zip code. There’s more than one way to skin a cat. A couple things to make note of.

  1. Since the hdhr is limited to 3 streams, you can go into edit settings of the tailspin source on local dvr, under options and limit streams to 3.

  2. Consider what priority you want the dvr to use this source to make recordings. I noticed in one of your screenshots you have tailspin at the very top of your source list. If you only want to use this source for a couple channels like cnn, I would suggest favoriting those channels inside the manage lineup setting of tailspin and then sliding the tailspin source to the bottom of source list priority order. This will make it so that the dvr will record from other sources first for other channels and cnn will record from tailspin. This will protect the 3 hdhr streams as best as possible from being used when there is an alternate source to record something from.

If you need more info on this, I’m sure @chDVRuser can expand better than I can on source priority and how the dvr picks what channel to record if multiples of a channel are available from different sources. Enjoy!
