Curious if 2023.03.29.2058 is the most recent version of this addon?
I am currently using it with Kodi Omega Beta 2.
Thanks
I just tried the new beta 2 and it works but there are two issues. It doesn't remember the selected channel collection when you restart Kodi. Also, an overall issue I have with both my add-on's (PlexKodiConnect & ChannelsDVR) or a beta 2 issue, is the thumbnails randomly don't work. The thumbnails just come and go. I have neither issue on Kodi Matrix, so I just use that on my main media, mini PC (N100).
does the kodi addon pull the guide channels from the dvr including virtual and tv everywhere channels?
Virtual channels have never worked. TVE has always worked, including with the new beta 2.
Virtual channels only work with CDVR clients (doesn't even work on the web interface). I won't pretend to know the architecture behind the scene, but my guess is a guide is produced on the server side but the stream is only initiated when the client requests it.
Hi
Yeah. I really think that Kodi add-on deserves more love than it gets from developers. It can be much better than it is actually. (For example: on Kodi using the add-on if the stream stops for any reason, Kodi just hangs out and we have to force quit and restart. This was reported long time ago and never get any attention. This do not happen on nextpvr add-on or tvmosaic add-on or even on simple Iptv add-on. In any of these if the stream stops we just press stop on remote and the channel stops and we can start another one or the same one if it is already working).
It's a pity that I have to use other addons on my Kodi machines while on others I use the native channels dvr application.
Trying to get this installed on an XBox Series X install of Kodi. I can see the download hitting 100%, then it instantly throws an error "Channels DVR Client: Installation Failed." It's build 2058 from repo installed from the kodi.getchannels.com server.
I checked the Kodi logs, but there's nothing there - it seems to be failing instantly once the d/l is done.
(as an FYI - the server is setup, running, and serving all the native apps)
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Which file did it download ?
pvr.channelsdvr-nexus-2023.03.29.2058.zip
I looked at the verbose log to get that, and also saw:
"addon.xml from 'pvr.chatnnelsdvr' for binary type 'kodi.pvrclient' doesn't contain library and addon becomes ignored.
I probably should have looked at the verbose log a bit sooner, my apologies.
Goto post #462 in this thread and precisely follow the steps.
Thank you. unfortunately, these are the instructions I've been following... but, I removed everything, and tried again - still didn't work on the Xbox Series X.
Any other thoughts?
Please share the whole log

Thanks, for your help, btw. It's unfortunate there's not an Xbox native app, but I get it.
These are the lines that I think are doing it:
2024-02-18 13:09:10.606 T:7044 error : CAddonInfoBuilder::ADDON::CAddonInfoBuilder::ParseXML: addon.xml from 'pvr.channelsdvr' for binary type 'kodi.pvrclient' doesn't contain library and addon becomes ignored

Anyone? If I can't get this working on the Xbox, I'm going to have to cancel Channels and go back to Plex. For several reasons, I really don't want to have to do that.
Thanks!
You can try the windows build. I don't know if it will work.

Unfortunately, grabbing the file directly fails immediately with the same error as last time... "kodi.pvrclient doesn't contain library and addon becomes ignored."
I see the VU+ people were having a similar issue installing under windows back in 2020, the devs fixed it with a new build (though I'm not sure what they did exactly).
That said, I went into the standard Kodi Addons Repo for a different plug in and saw a Channels DVR plug-in sitting in there. It installed, I configured the server, and it works - unfortunately, it doesn't have access to recorded TV - only live. Again, really wish there was a native Xbox Series X/S app - the android/ios apps are awesome.
Why is Kodi/Xbox support important to you? I don't game, but both the Channels app, and Kodi run on so many devices, I just don't get it.
can kodi be exported to m3u8?
Maybe there's a higher log level you can enable.. not much to go on
