Kodi Add-on

I liked the default Estuary skin, but always had to modify it to shrink the font, eliminate the guide genre colors and add extra indicators for recording status of guide entries.

The skin based on MediaPortal I also found to be decent, although it relies a bit too heavily on additional plugins for my taste ...

Thanks for the info. How does one shrink the font size for the guide?

By editing the skin itself. It's definitely not something the casual user will do.

@BobbyDing https://kodi.tv/addons/look-and-feel/skins check there to get a feel for the skin without having to install.

edit - added a screenshot of all the skins in the repo's Guide here: https://imgur.com/a/0VMGGRw

Thanks!

Very happy to have found this!

Is it just a case of finding the latest links in this thread for the latest version - or is there an upload location?

Can I say how happy this makes me  I have been trialing Channels DVR for 3 months or so, along side my old SageTV. This Kodi add-on has tripped the trigger for me to finalize the changeover and purchase a full year of Channels.

When I posted to this thread back in August, I didn't expect anything to come of it. So I was surprised when I checked back yesterday and saw this. I think I'd better enable notification emails....

I have installed this on my Windows Kodi installation that I use for testing, and it works perfectly. I will be installing this on my Shield tonight when I get home.

Thanks!

So, the Windows add-on seems to work well. Playback seems good. And the list of recordings is grouped correctly, by Title/show.

On the Android client (on a Shield), playback is good, but grouping is not happening. It's just a list of all recordings by date.

Do you have groups enabled in your skin settings? Not all skins support grouping for PVR clients.

Is there a later build than 2019.10.02.2024? I am not able to play live TV with this one on the Fire TV stick. There is a lot of pixelization and audio delay. This is true for a Fire TV stick, and a 4k Fire TV stick. The Channels app works perfectly.

I'm wondering if it's Kodi... Has anyone else been able to use the Channels DVR add in for Kodi with Fire TV? I'm using Kodi 18.4.

18.4 has problems with commercial skipping, if you use that feature for recorded programs. A fix has been made for Matrix (Kodi 19), And should be backported for release with 18.5. Until then, 18.3 works with commercial skipping, and is still available from Kodi's servers for all platforms they host.

The developers have not made available an up-to-date addon page or repository for this. Presently the only option is to scan the thread from the bottom up looking for the most recent release for your platform mentioned. Unfortunately, because of the nature of Kodi PVR addons, this does not include Linux builds at this time.

I have the same problem with pixelation of live tv on the SHield with that build.

Yes, I have groups enabled. All settings are the same as the Windows test PC. I have tried multiple themes on Windows and all group correctly.

On Android (Shield) all of them do not. I am presented with a single folder without a name. Just dots. And all of the recordings under that one folder.

This is just what I was looking for. With the demise of PS Vue, I'll have to use YTTV as a replacement.

It works pretty well over all. I have noticed the reported pixelation of some channels, especially on the networks. I am running Kodi on a Windows 10 PC with a 1 gig internet connection. The DR is on a separate Win 10 PC.

Where do the recordings show up in Kodi on Windows?

Rob

I would also love a kodi version for my Coreelec S905X android box. The armhf build for the unofficial HDHomeRun PVR works perfect on it as well. The test versions that tmm1 made do not seem to work at all. (I.E. it is recognized as a PVR client, says it is connected, but does not see any guide or channels, or recordings on server).

Is armhf the proper format? I haven't looked at CE in a while, but the S905X is a 64-bit ARM processor, so either armv8h or aarch64 would be my assumptions as to the architecture to use. (I'm also a little confused: You mention using CoreELEC, but then say it's an Android box. CoreELEC is a Kodi-only OS and based on Linux, while Android is something different.)

You probably need to edit settings and add the IP of your DVR

Figured it out. Since I am using Emby for my library for movies and DVR recordings, the recordings by Channels do not show uo. I will have to figure out something for that.

Thanks!
