Latest update breaks TVE

My server, on a Mac Mini M4, was apparently updated Wednesday, 10/29/2025. Since then I’ve had failed recordings on Spectrum Lifestyle channels. HGTV, Cooking, Magnolia, Food Network do not work today. They come in fine on the Spectrum app.

Also broken on my Philo-TVE channels. Exact error message (exc IP & provider).

Wife noticed it yesterday when she couldn't tune in any of the Discovery channels.

Version 2025.10.30.0047

Channels DVR TVE does not get the TVE channels from any app or provider website.
It gets them from the networks websites.

The Discovery Networks are working for me on v2025.10.31.0434 using YTTV as a Provider.

Maybe its just me. But it seems Discovery changes things a week before Gold Rush every year where everyone has issues logging in or weird display issues and usually gets straitened out the week of. Or at least the last 3 years seemed to have that pattern.

Same version here.

Everyone will have that stable release unless they updated prerelease since then.

You didn't mention if TVE is working for you. So that's like saying "I also use Channels DVR".

Downloaded and installed pre-release 2025.11.01.1853 last evening.

TVE is back to working.

That’s awesome! Since I don’t know how to download and install beta software for Channels, I guess I’ll just wait until my Mac mini gets updated.

Its easy to update to pre-release on the server side. Go to Settings -> Status.

Then there is a arrow down. Where it says Check for Update. Click on the Check for Pre-Release and it will download and install the Pre-Release.

It’s very easy, under settings > status > server info. Simply hit the down arrow and select pre release.

From the web interface go to settings/status. You will see update and it's a dropdown with two options:
Check for stable release
Check for pre-release

Chose pre-release

Well, I just downloaded what was available today - 2025.11.02.2030, and TVE is broken again.

Sigh.

Many thanks. That was the simplest and fastest server update I’ve ever done!

Except TVE is broke again.

@LarryWahlers you way want to share the error(s) from the logs (in the web interface under "Support"/"Logs"). For what it's worth, I'm currently running ChannelsDVR 2025.10.30.0047 on MacOS and my TVE channels via Philo are working, including Discovery.

I agree that the logs may tell you what's going on. Look at them first as it may give you a hint for which of the TVE Troubleshooting steps will help.

That was an excellent suggestion. Logs showed there was a password problem. So, I remembered that when I added my new Apple Watch Ultra 3 to Spectrum I had to change my password.

This is such a rookie mistake. I apologize profusely for taking up your time. As a retired IT professional, I’m really embarrassed.

It still didn’t work after I changed password on the Channels server until I restarted everything, but TVE works now and my wife is happy she can get her Discovery channels recorded again.

I’ll just go crawl into a hole now…

There were no updates regarding TVE in the latest pre-release. It's likely that the update just reauthorized your provider. Which you can do at any time.
