I know TVE does more then just add traditional cable channels to guide but with more and more networks going DRM...It's losing it's appeal. I just noticed ESPN are now gone. I used it so as not to use one of my 3 streams with an old directv stream account. I now finding myself using directv stream more and more
Happened about 5-6 months ago.
Similar frustrations. I've been using Prismcast as my TVE replacement for ESPN based channels and has worked reasonably well (doesn't count against the stream limit) with the right PC hardware, though with the update to Chrome v149, there seems to be some who have problems accessing it (my machine hasn't updated yet).
I'm also using Prismcast to bring all of my subscribed YTTV channels into Channels DVR.
Including locals (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, ION, NBC & PBS).
It also handles non-DRM TVE channels directly from the networks.
Running it on a Mac Mini w/Chrome v149
It supports DirecTV Stream, so you should be able to do the same.

I'll look into Prismcast
Fair warning: prism is high maintenance, but if it's all you got then you do what you got to do.
Am very very new to CHANNELS, running on my cheap WIN11 workstation. Did get my M3U source to bring in many channels. But now seeing can integrate a few others.
SLING has a free level that hope remains free. My extended family let me watch some of their services, and hope we can integrate those, without much trouble.
Am seeing that may need to run DOCKER on my win11 pro workstation server, to allow using the PLM and SLM tools. That would allow bringing in PLUTO and other services. Seems complicated, but will give it a go. Hope my workstation can handle all that. No one is mentioning the server specifications including running docker and maybe ten sources.
you'll probably be fine, but you didn't say your server specs
prismecast and any of the chrome capture varieties need the most resources, other stuff not so much. most internet connections are fast enough that even remotely I don't transcode, i use original/direct.
4 of the hdd's are usb.
my ch4c source can get a tiny bit choppy, but that's when 4 recordings are already happening via ah4c/linkpi.
also I don't do comercial dectection on my news recordings since there are so many in a short span, and I may not even watch them before their erased (keep 1)
