LinkPi encoder family

ENC1_V3. It didn't show the previous update either (20231229) but I found it somewhere in their servers. Now I can't find the url anymore. Is there a link to firmware downloads anywhere?

I logged into the LinkPi, chose "Options" at the top,and then chose "System." At the bottom of the System page, you should find "Upgrade" on the right. Click the "Search" button next to "online update." That should bring you to a display of the new versions available and you can do the update from there.

No luck. It gets stuck looking for the file and I get this message:

There's nothing abnormal about the network. If someone has a link to file, please let us know.

Ok mistery solved. I have UniFi and I had geo-blocked all access to/from China. Unblocked it, downloaded, upgraded and all is good. Thanks.

Upgraded to latest version. Seems stable.

Doing a bit more testing today with the Link Pi.

I think I already know the answer to this but I’ll ask anyway just in case Im missing something obvious.

Does the Link Pi support 5.1 audio, either passing through the signal or re encoding?

I only see mono and stereo settings in the Web UI for the encode settings.
Is there a way to get 5.1 sound out of the link Pi?

Id love to be able to capture surround audio from movies and shows.

At the moment Im capturing my apple TV hdmi output - which I know supports surround sound. Im watching a surround file playing through plex (also tried netflix) and channels is only showing stereo on the “show stats”

I did confirm I can change the audio sample rate and channels show stats follows the Link Pi setting.

Is there a setting or config in the web ui that I am missing?

Like all similar HDMI encoders, LinkPi captures Stereo only

Trying to solve a riddle with my LinkPi setup.

My client is an apple TV 4K (latest), and i use 4K SDR default, with frame rate and range matching on.

For some reason, when tuning linkpi channels via the client, a frame rate/range switch happens, when it doesn't happen for HDHR/TVE sources. I'm trying to pinpoint why.

When looking at stats, and comparing TVE to LinkPi channels, the only thing that stands out is the color matrix and primaries. Everything else seemed in-line at first glance.

Is anyone running into this too?

what is your ATV display setting 59.94hz? if so your linkpi is probably encoding at 60hz if you are getting mode changes.

Bingo. That's exactly what it was. Thanks!

It's odd though - I can flip between different variations of ~30fps and ~60 fps without similar redraws.

I think my ENC1_V3 may be meeting an early demise.

All of a sudden, my adb setup is complaining about "Endpoint connection failed" , despite the linkpi being up.

My preview and overlay HDMI windows are also showing broken links, until i restart.

I tried a factory reset, and it appears to help the preview window for a few mins, but it breaks after some settings changes.

Several months ago I had unexplained behavior after playing with the overlays and whenever I tried to do a soft reboot. What seemed to clear things up was unplugging the linkPi, doing a router reboot, and then powering the LinkPi back on. In that order.

Also I noticed that latest firmware update broke my static IP address that I had assigned within the linkPi admin UI. It was changed back to a dynamic address and I had to reconfigure back to a fixed IP.

I had reserved a fixed IP address for the LinkPi in my router.

A you manually pull a stream from the LinkPi using VLC? Also try changing your streaming device to 1080p and see if that helps.

Very weird - I've been noodling around, and it looks like it's only the 8090 listener misbehaving.

eg: If i set ADBTuner to http://ip/live/stream0, it comes up green (but obviously doesn't "work" for known reasons)
but http://ip:8090/stream0 doesn't.

I'm trying some more things now...

nothing works in VLC - I'm starting to warm up the fat lady for this one. Crap.

What are you trying to do with the port number? Access the LinkPi's stream?

Yes.

I've edited my above as it's possibly confusing as-is

i usually don't need to use the port number in VLC.

Are you testing on the same machine that has adb on it? maybe a firewall?

My stream url is http://192.168.86.24/hls/stream0.m3u8

http://ip/8090/live/stream0 is incorrect format.. try http://ip/8090/stream0 (remove /live from string)
