MLB.TV for Channels

I’m getting this error as well.

i'll take a look, but my guess is it's because the season is over and it's finding national games that are blacked out in the US anyway. i'll mess around with it this weekend.

also, thank you all for the kind words. glad i could make this happen for everyone!

are you still seeing this? i'm not having any issues loading the EPG on 1.5.2 as of this very moment (10/7/2021 at 9:18pm pacific time)...even though like i said there's nothing to play right now anyway. the games come up in the EPG but they're all blacked out here in the US.

No issues for me now, it’s working as intended! :baseball:

I found the same thing when i set it up the other day.
I remapped the channels to the youtube guide and that is working well.

ie YOUPIT , YOUNYM etc

i don't have mlb.tv for spring training, i wait until i get it for free from t-mo around opening day...so i don't have an account to test with right now unfortunately. i will definitely be maintaining it though once the season starts, provided they don't break it completely.

i don't either, also waiting on tmobile. they seem to be all free games of the day and they work, just no epg.

in that case maybe I'll mess with it tonight and see what I can find out.

i think i have this figured out. pushing out a fix later tonight.

unfortunately though, i think all games are free only through tomorrow. after that, it's one game a day for the rest of the spring like during the season...

Yes, I know and understand why using a VPN to skirt georestrictions is not supported with this fantastic Docker container.

But this is one of the more interesting “no comment” PR responses I’ve seen in the streaming space:

alright, those last few pushes were kind of a disaster.

deleted 1.6.0 entirely, pushed 1.6.1. this will fix the spring training EPG and also removes big inning for now (since there's nothing there at the moment). 1.6.1 should be good to go, i think.

let me know if there are any issues and i'll do what i can, given that i'm working from a free account right now...

Is there a good way to get logos and channel guide logos to be available when remotely connected? It looks if you point channels to the local IP of the docker container then the ios app also points to the local IP for the channel logo and guide which is not available remotely unless you have a vpn connection back to your device.

My channels server is pointed to the internal ip of my mlb docker container and im remote right now. I dont have an issue with logos. (Im on android though).

the logos will work (in my experience anyway) in the app, but not from the web remotely. i always have this issue when watching from my tesla.

i'll see if i can figure out a way around this. i originally had the logos loading from the web (which worked remotely), but then caused issues if the site was down...so including them in the container was the compromise. if anyone has a way to resolve this while keeping them inside the container, i'm all ears...

I got channel logos for remote guide to work by using the following for source: http://external ip:internal port/m3u and XMLTV Guide is http://localhost:port/epg

Again, I appreciate all the work on this. Is there a planned update in the coming days to add "big innings?"

Gotcha, I may play with linking the channels dvr together with the mlbtv container together and then using localhost like @Eric_Levy mentioned. It isnt that big of a deal as I can easily read the name of the channel. Ideally I think the channels dvr server should proxy or cache the logos instead of redirecting them to the host. Maybe one of the devs can chime in

i'll update to add big inning once it goes live. last year it didn't start right at the beginning of the season, IIRC.

also, my main focus as of thursday is making sure regular games still work. MLB has been known to keep things the same during spring and then make changes that go live on opening day...so that's priority number one, if anything breaks (hopefully it won't, but i just want everyone to be prepared for this to potentially not work on thursday afternoon).
