Be sure any team passes are still going to work. That guide data is a little different and requires an advanced pass with channel number and “live”. You can verify under your pass and the matches tab. The built in team pass that channels has will not record from this guide data since it doesn’t include Gracenote id’s.
Thank you. I don't record the games, so no issue there.
That's expected -- mlbserver doesn't fetch guide data for any linear channels, with the understanding that users are likely to already have a linear guide data source.
I understand that EPlusTV has linear guide data for those channels, if anyone needs it right now.
Looking closer at your mlbserver Docker log, I see that there are two different guide.xml requests from Channels DVR -- one that is valid, and another that just produces a blank XML file (the request ending with "&includeTeams=mlbn") since mlbserver doesn't currently provide linear guide data.
I wonder if those blank XML requests were overriding the valid request data in Channels DVR? Otherwise, I don't think anything about the link Rice provided should be required for mlbserver game guide data in Channels -- it just changes the title formatting, and adds "Off Air" events during non-game times.
But in any case, glad you got it working!
Thank you, Tony.
Did anyone else have problems tonight with mlbserver? My recordings failed and I see entries like the following in my logs, even after updating to the latest image.
9/26/2025, 9:16:29 PM stream.m3u8 request : /stream.m3u8?team=MILresolution=best from: ::ffff:192.168.1.2 using: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/137.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
9/26/2025, 9:16:29 PM could not find mediaId or gamePk
9/26/2025, 9:16:29 PM no matching game found /stream.m3u8?team=MILresolution=best
9/26/2025, 9:16:29 PM failed to get mediaId : /stream.m3u8?team=MILresolution=best
You are missing an ampersand (“&”) between your URL parameters. That part should be “?team=MIL&resolution=best”.
Sorry for that false alarm. That was one of my by hand attempts using mpv to check if any streams were working. My real recordings did fail earlier, though. I can try to dig out those logs if you want. A quick check by hand just now (with the missing &) appears to show things are working again so it's probably nor worth it at this point.
mlbserver update 2025.10.02
This update adds support for generating Comskip-style files for skipping breaks, idle time, or non-action pitches when recording and watching outside of mlbserver. Details and example links are available near the bottom on your mlbserver home page after updating.
So you can record a game outside of mlbserver (OTA, TVE, etc.), then download a Comskip EDL or TXT file for the game from mlbserver and stick that file alongside your recorded video file. This will allow compatible player software to automatically skip those breaks.
Can I watch Dominican League games on MLB? I have an account and everything, but when I try to play, it just keeps loading. Is this happening to anyone else?
Dominican games are delivered a bit differently, and they usually require a code update each year to work again. I will try to take a look in the next few days.
Thanks Tony, because they already added another league which is the Dominican and Mexican, excellent games.
Dominican League (LIDOM), Mexican League (LMP), and Arizona Fall League (AFL) all added in mlbserver version 2025.10.16
They are live only, and can be accessed in the web interface or through the channels.m3u endpoint. Should be included by default if you don't specify any "includeTeams" or "excludeTeams" parameter to channels.m3u, otherwise you can do "includeTeams=winter" to add them (see example on mlbserver web interface).
Let me know if you run into any issues!
Thank you very much Tony, I would like to contribute something for you, please tell me where I can do it.
I noticed that mlb network isn't working. Any change in the code that would have broken it?
thanks
Good catch! Yes, that was broken by yesterday's update. Fixed in today's update (2025.10.17).
Thanks for updating the winter leagues.
Arizona Fall League lists archived streams at
https://www.mlb.com/arizona-fall-league/live-streams#archives
how do you have the m3u setup to watch the arizona fall league games? I'm seeing 27 channels but not finding much elase.
Can someone point me to th eproper m3u format values?
This article is claiming Mlb.tv will be available on espn and on the mlb app still "to start" meaning likely after the 2026 season it will be only on the espn app. That at least will give us a chance to say goodbye to all the mlb.tv programs that we could use since espn app has drm.
I hate drm so much because of the fact its just inconvenience for some people not to mention can literally be bypassed. there needs to be a way to let you playback drm on channelsdvr otherwise I can see a future where those shady iptvs are everywhere (which is already happening).
I expect ESPN to add DRM to the MLB app so using stuff like the mlbserver may not be possible. Looking forward to seeing how all this plays out. We won't know for a bit yet but i'm expecting it.
