Mlb.tv update

I didn’t mean anything by it. Why can’t one just use the html address/mlb/m3u and then ip address/mlb/guide.xml? Seems to be working now for me

You certainly can. I prefer the Fubo Gracenote guide data because I use 2 different DNS providers and I want the channel to failover if it cant tune on the first attempt.

RIP Billy Bean

Anyone Having issues now? I can't seem to get any game to show up. Was working last week. Eplus is working fine, just not this MLB Server. Stopped it and restarted and same issue. Nothing in Logs.

NEVERMIND*
I went in and logged out and then back in and it started working again. Not sure why it forgot my credentials or if they became corrupted. But logging out and back in worked.
Go to http://IPOFSERVER:5714
Log out
Log in.

The same thing happened for me a week back. Had to log out and then login again

I saw the same issue myself. Seems something on the other end at MLB causes the log in somewhere to expire.
If Channels can't play a stream, verify tings by trying to play a live game on the video interface.
I logged out and logged back in and allworks great.

Hi @slampman, are you having any issues with your gracenote guide data? Mine is showing 'Sign Off' for every time slot. It looks like it is pulling in 'FUBARI' into my guide xml indicating FUBO Arizona I believe, but all time slots are showing 'SIGN OFF'. Just curious if this is a issue on my end, or something that is impacting everyone.

THis is what I am putting in my m3u:

Here is a svcreenshot of the beginning of my xml:

Yeah I am seeing a problem with the fubu guide data + the newer mlbtv server is having issues with the xml.. This is what I did to work around that. Switch to the older mlbserver that is now updated to the new api

snip from my portainer stacks file

  mlbserver:

    restart: unless-stopped

here is my channels config:

Thanks @slampman! So I set mine up using the command below, the strangest thing though is it includes all 29 teams except the one team I actually subscribe to which is the Diamondbacks. Almost like it is excluding it due to blackout, but that doesn't make sense since I set zip code to =0. Any ideas?

docker run -d --name mlbserver --env TZ="America/Phoenix" --env data_directory=/mlbserver/data_directory --env account_username=***** --env account_password=*****--env zip_code=0 --env fav_teams=0 -p 9999:9999 -p 10000:10000 --volume /mlbserver/data_directory tonywagner/mlbserver

Here is the docker output:

Hmmm see if it is in the m3u. Copy and paste the m3u from the channels config in your browser. Then open the downloaded file in a text editor. See if AZ shows up:

It wouldn't be blackout related, that would just give you the blackout video message. The only other thing I can think of is you have a duplicate channel id somewhere.

Interesting, this is the first few lines of output from my m3u

My output definitely looks different than yours, also not sure why the port in my output is showing :8089? Your channels ID's are definitely different as well...

I wonder if something could be happening with data from old sources? I have added and removed various MLB sources trying to debug this. Is there a way to clear out the Channels DVR server cache?

Looks like you are connecting to another one of your channels servers

Yeah, that's the frustrating thing. I only have one Channels DVR server.

Oh wait. You copied the url form the console for the source. Dont do that. Open the mlb config for the source and paste that on your browser. It should be http://dockerip:9999

So this is what I get when I paste what I am using in my source into a browser window. Isn't this what I would expect to see and what I should paste in under source when setting up the custom channel? Its also interesting to see the AZ game with a strikethrough which indicates a blackout.

Here is my m3u custom channels setup:

It could be blacked out but i would think that it would show in the guide.

Don't you have to provide your zipcode to see that in the guide?

Just to clarify, I am in Arizona and our RSN went bankrupt last year (Bally Sports AZ), so mlb.tv is sold now as the only in market option to watch your local teams, so this is not a case of trying to workaround a local blackout rule.

MlB did setup an in market subscription for people in Arizona.
San Diego went through the same thing.
