After investigation I discovered online https://www.nbcsports.com/live, if you click on the NBCSN play button it redirects you to this URL http://stream.nbcsports.com/nbcsn/generic?pid=216904, then is plays and ad. Even though we are paying for the network with our providers it prompts to watch an ad before the live event or program. So it appears that TVE steaming for NBCSN is no longer compatible for Channels. I hope the developers can find a way around this. I think this is the way of the future for streaming content. Prompts for Ads. Geeeeeeeeee
I guess the DVR solution to not watching ads is coming to an end. They are going to force these ads down our throats no matter what. Even Tivo is getting in the inserting ads in recordings before we view them.
This channel now requires watching an ad on their live streaming site before it directs you to the live event.
Itâs not the add thatâs causing this. Itâs that nbcsn no longer streams the 24/7 channel, it now uses different pids (different urls) for each show.
I donât think there is a way for channels to implement this now. It should just be deleted from the guide.

This is the same for the nbcsports app to.
I use HULU live as my source and I can apparently watch every other channel but NBCSN.
I have read most of the excuses or guesses given but:
NBCSN works fine through the HULU app
NBCSN does NOT require watching any ad or anything else when it is watched through HULU
Every other channel is working fine
I have rescaned my channels and get all the same channels I ever had
Since this is through HULU most of the possible problems do not apply
When will this be fixed as the ability to record NBCSN is a primary reason for me using Channels DVR?
The ability to watch or record NBCSN is over for channels. It can be view with their app only or use providers device apps. You will have to view it through Hulu. This issue is going on its 3rd week and appears to be permanent.
I agree that's http://stream.nbcsports.com/nbcsn/ is probably not coming back but I'm hoping the TVE developers might be able to fix via enhancement request down the line.
One idea could be to replace the static NBCSN URL in TVE with something that does a lookup on https://www.nbcsports.com/live site and grabs the full, live NBCSN URL from there. So the old http://stream.nbcsports.com/nbcsn/ becomes http://stream.nbcsports.com/$ where $ currently = "nascar/xfinity-series" TVE would then be able to show http://stream.nbcsports.com/nascar/xfinity-series which is currently streaming on their website. I'm not sure how much work this would be and it may not make sense for the developers do this for one channel. If more channels ended up going to the different pid route it could become more important though. I.E. NBCUniversal started rolling out the different URLs out across their other networks. I need to look into it more...
Channels streams donât come directly from the Hulu app. They come from the NBC sports website.
Iâm confused because I can watch nbcsn live via channels guide, but it failed to record the Tottenham Leicester game I had set up via pass. It wasnât in my list of recorded shows, but then when i was poking around it started recording the game notifying me that the recording had started late?? I did initially set it up to go an extra 120 minutes long (side note, this should be extendable beyond 2 hours, as those watching Virginia tech UNC wouldâve seen a couple weeks back as they went through 6 OTs)
Yes, the default http://stream.nbcsports.com/nbcsn/ is working again right now which is a surprise. First time in about a week or so. We'll have to see if it lasts. It could just be for certain events.
Looks like this is still an issue for me with the latest build. Anyone else been able to get this to work?
The issue is the stream from NBC. Channels canât control what they do with the stream. You will have to view the network through your provider. NBC Universal is changing the URLâs for various events. It was good all week till yesterday. Soccer games appear to be when they change the URLâs.
It worked for a week and it reverted back to stream not live. I wonder if itâs one of the builds or more like nbc is playing games.
I just decided to remove it from my tuners. Maybe by the beginning of 2020 it returns to normal.
Yes, I think itâs the soccer specifically as NBC is worried about people âstealingâ the stream esp outside the US
Yeah, I tried to watch the Tottenham game this past weekend and it didn't work. I was later able to login to the NBC Sports app from my appletv and watch the reply that way.
So, this is probably a dumb question, but this would only affect me if i'm trying to watch NBCSN soccer games via TVE--not if i'm watching them via a HDHR Prime 3 with a FIOS cablecard?

Nope. Does not work, and has not worked for weeks. I'm seeing more and more issues with Channels DVR... seems flawed in general, as the issues are not just with this channel.
I've had no issues whatsoever with channels dvr, apart from the NBCSN feed. It's the best $80 I've spent in a long time.
works fine for me, i'm watching it right now. just switched to it to double check.
