The new On Now filter is Awesome
The time indicator on the guide page could be a bit larger.
Channels ATV is so much better than any cable STB. Easy to use and packed with useful features.

Is it possible to have a âminiâ grid guide when you swipe down while watching a live channel?
I like the new color schema. And I agree with @d21mike, having Channels use the Apple dark mode was nice. Perhaps an option in the settings to choose the mode the viewer would like is worth considering.
Think it would be cool if you could choose for Channels to open by default to the Grid guide rather than the âOn nowâ tab. Not a major issue to change to the grid tab but would remove one extra click for people that want to jump straight to the guide.
Would also echo other comments of somehow seeing whatâs playing at same time as looking at Grid. Whether that was some sort of translucency or even a reduce window of whatâs playing.
Either way, these are minor things and this update is still awesome!
Hate to say it. After using it for the day, I really want the ability to respect the system scheme (Light/Dark Modes) back. I like the scene you guys came up with, but when it respected the system scheme, it felt nativeâŚ
Give us the option to use system scheme (Light/Dark Modes) or Channels default color schemeâŚ
PleaseâŚ
Bad Ass!! I love it.
Nice I like the fix for swiping left too far on the guide. The only other thing I noticed is that it still âbeepsâ a bunch of you swipe left too far. It stops and doesnât go to the category option but you can still hear a bunch of the indicator sounds. I feel like the extra beeps are unnessary.
Yeah I didnât even see the little dot at first to indicate the time on the guide. I think a faint line going down the guide would be a nice touch to tell the time.
Same here, I thought it was a bug at first.
I would be cool to have the current time displayed around the top right corner in the guide tab.
Absolutely love the grid guide. Frankly, it looks better than any of the DVRs/cable boxes provided by the cable companies.
I do have one suggestion. I noticed for some of the OTA channels (like NASA TV, etc) where there is no guide data available it is just blank on the grid. Would you consider including a placeholder program âNo Program Data Available.â What this would let you do is use the grid exclusively to select channels as right now there is no way to select a channel with no program guide data available.
I like the new features, but I do NOT like the new purple color scheme. It really makes it look odd when all of the other apps use the light or dark mode from the OS. I really liked how the previous UI blended seamlessly with the rest of the AppleTV experience. I canât get past it, the purple is jarring to me and makes the app look unpolished.
I really like the filtering options on the âOn Nowâ view. I noticed that movie posters are scaled down to fit within the box in âOn Nowâ, when they used to be cropped. It may be my dislike of the purple, but I think I prefer the cropping so that all images filled the entire rectangle.
The latest beta fixed the extra beeping on the swipe left in the guide! And the iOS app update fixed the reminders crash. You guys are on a roll!
Good idea, thanks for reporting this issue. Will take a look.
I was going to say the same thing!
In addition, it would be a nice feature to have a setting (Image Guide/Grid Guide) which lets users select whether they want the previous image guide or the new grid guide throughout Channels.
The old image guide is still available on the On Now tab.
Do you plan to add the new grid to the favorite guide?
Fixed in the latest beta.
No new features or color schemes are planned for the upcoming 2.0 release. We are currently working on bug fixes and polish to get the app ready for the App Store.
Once 2.0 is out, we will start thinking about whatâs next. Thereâs no shortage of ideas, and the possibilities are endless now that we have a basic grid implementation in place.
The âUnknownâ in the guide looks great. I tried several of the entries and when I select the program, the app does not want to tune to that channel. When I select an âUnknownâ program, nothing happens. I did verify that I could tune to the channel via On Now.
iOS app issue. Where there's no data on the guide it's not active/selectable. The channel label to the far left is the only active/selectable location.
