NEW: FireTV app for Channels DVR (experimental)

I have FireTv v2. InstaTV, HDHomerun, Kodi.

Got it installed, but all it does is say Searching for Channels DVR. Just installed it for ATV4 and it is working fine.Any ideas?

Make sure the FireTV and DVR are on the same network (check their IPs). You can try unchecking and rechecking the Bonjour checkbox on the DVR web ui.

Did what you said, they are on same network, did the unclick and click, same thing. Just spins. Oh well, that being said the Apple flavor is working really nice.

Please sent me an invite. I am using the 4k FireTV (but on a 1080p display). Have been using the HDHomeRun app on that device and works pretty well. I have the Channels DVR on iPhone/AppleTV/iPad and all working pretty good.

I would like to try the Fire TV App. I have been using the Android Beta on Shield TV with good success. Looking forward to the ability to recored directly from client guide. I have a new version of Fire Stick. Iā€™d like to use a FireTV device as a lower-cost alternative to the Shield for additional TVā€™ - even if I have to purchase a standard FireTV it is quite a bit less expensive than a shield.

Unfortunately, I canā€™t get fireTV or Roku apps to display live TV or DVR recording. I have tried different bitrates and interlace methods. All fail.

Everything works fine on AppleTV. All devices are on the same network.

Your DVR is on a NAS with an ARM based processor, which is not powerful enough to transcode video.

Can you please send me an invite for the Fire TV. I am currently running an HDHomeRun Prime with Channels on iOS and ATV4 with the DVR service on a Synology NAS RS815+. I have both the Fire TV and the Fire TV Stick. Thanks!

To install the Amazon Underground App, just follow these 3 steps:

  1. Update Phone Settings
    -Go to your phone Settings page and tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
    -Check the Unknown Sources box and confirm with OK

  2. Install
    -Go to Your Downloads
    -Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
    -Tap on the Amazon App File (Amazon_App.apk)
    -Tap Install when prompted

Problem solved. I was logged into my business account where I should have been logged into my personal account.

I have a Fire TV with a Synology RS815+. The user interface is working well. However, whenever I play anything, there is a lot of buffering. A few seconds playing followed by a few seconds of buffering and it goes continuously both for Live and Recorded content. Let me know if there is anything I can do to remedy this problem or if you need more information.

Try changing the web transcoder settings on the DVR web settings UI to a lower rate.

Iā€™d love to test the Fire TV version.
