NFL football

Hi folks,

I must be seriously confused here, so my apologies. Can you help me figure out how to record the Green Bay Packer preseason game on Saturday?

Thank you!

You probably need to delete and recreate guide data to get that.

I'm just a user, Jean, trying to record a football game. I don't know what that means.

If you don't see it in the guide, that means you need to update the guide.

Go to Settings -> Live TV & DVR and scroll down to guide data and hit that gear and delete and recreate database

Once you do that, it'll pop up in the guide and you can record it

hygiene,

I went ahead and did what you suggested. This is what I see now:

I don't know what to do.

I guess you'll have to record it manually using Olivetin

I was hoping maybe the DVR software would figure out how to record a season pass of the Green Bay Packer game. With that game just a few days out, it seems this system is starting to really fall apart.

Any helpful advise would be much appreciated.

Channels DVR scheduled recordings rely on gracenote EPG guide data.
Plain and Simple. If it isn't in the guide, it won't record.
That's one of the reasons I use manual recordings.

Well, I pay Channels DVR for the guide service.

So no more football then chDVRuser?

What would be the quickest way to create a "manual recording" for that timeslot?

Select the airing you see for the date and time and select to record it with padding.
If you do that it will record using whatever name is listed in the airing date and time, but will honor your padding time around it.

If a Channels DVR developer could research this, I'd sure appreciate it. It all the Channels DVR users have to go through this same headache just to record a simple NFL Football game, it would seem somewhat counterproductive to the entire purpose of the "DVR" software.

There's only a handful of guys doing this. If gracenote doesn't have the right data, then their hands are tied.

A DVR is only as good as its EPG.

Do I need to contact the EPG provider? Who would I email?

Don't waste your time. You cannot contact gracenote, but you can submit feedback through zap2it.
By the time they reply (if ever) it will be too late.

Are you saying that if Gracenote = junk, then Channels DVR = junk by default? I refuse to believe that.

Yes, Um, how long have you been a DVR user?
G.I.G.O

How do we get the EPG guide data fixed?

That seems like super difficult question today.

Take over Gracenote and tell them how to do it?
