No sound after some skip forward or back

I started having trouble with the sound muting when skipping forward or back within the last month. The mute button does not bring it back, I have to pause the video & restart it. My server is a minimal dedicated mini PC with a FireCube connected to a smart TV. I've tried rebooting everything & making sure that the Windows 11, Channels software & FireCube software are all up to date. Any idea where I should look for the problem? I'm not at all familiar with the Channels software or how to do anything but use it & make setting changes from the GUI.

Jethro Bodine short course instructions would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure this has any relevance to your problem, but the ChannelsDVR software in the Amazon Store is not the latest released version. It still has version 4.8 and it should be 4.9. I don't really see anything in the release notes that indicate your problem is covered. I use a Firestick Max and haven't noticed any problem like you are seeing. There is a method to install the latest Beta ChannelsDVR client software which is what I use. The installation is not overly difficult, but it does involve several steps.

Thanks, Michael, I’ll give the beta a shot.

It’s funny, I started out using a Dell windows 10 desktop as my server about 4 years ago, then decided to go to a Raspberry Pi because. I didn’t use the computer for anything else. No problems on either machine. When it was announced that the Pi was not going to be supported I switched to a small windows 11 machine. It’s been somewhat problematic since then. There have been windows problems that I don’t see until it impacts channels & I log into the computer. Really wish the Pi was still supported.

Peace, Pat

I have been using a mini computer with Windows 11 Pro for more than 3 years. It doesn't cause many problems for me. I run ChannelsDVR as a windows service. I remote into the server occasionally from my desktop to check about windows updates. But I rarely have any significant downtime. Periodically I run the Troubleshooting routine available on the ChannelsDVR web interface. It gives me a good idea if any problems are happening.

Looks like I solved the problem by updating the Channels software to the beta version. Thanks for the suggestion. (Now that I've posted this, I wouldn't be surprised if the problem reappeared!)
