@Morris_Altman Thank you, that was very helpful. I will have another update pushed in just a bit. Test it and see if that fixes the issue.
Looks like more time is needed (v1.2.26). Also, I'm not sure your timer is waiting for Channels timer to run out, or it is waiting only for the first attempt and then starting the countdown. I can see Channels making two calls and HTPC giving up before that.
Of course, I go to replicate and I couldn't get it to happen again! But I forced the issue to...
... get this from Channels...

And I just kept trying to play in HTPC until it did so.
Thanks. Seeing it happen helps.
This is trickier than I thought. I could increase the timeout and it might "help", but I want to see if I can add a smarter auto retry to it. Let me look at this today and try to figure a better way for me to tune stubborn sources.
In 1.2.7, I increased the timers for network connection timeout, playlist parsing timeout and tuner timeout. Let me know if this helps so I can see if I am chasing the right rabbit.
That seemed to do the trick! It sat there "buffering" for the entire time until it started playing. I could increase the forced wait time to see how long I could take it, if you need, but I think Channels will max out after a minute anyway.
I'm glad it is working. No need to force wait. I'm going to continue digging away at it and see if I find anything else that might cause an issue. Thanks again.
Unfortunately it did not hid the empty folders
I pushed another update last night. Let me know if that resolved the issue. Thanks.
Yes it's fixed. Thank you Bobby
Morris
I have not forgotten about Nucleus, I just have other things going on right now. I have started work on the light color theme, but this is a tedious task.
This is great. Even better than Feral. My feedback, in no particular order:
- It would be helpful if the scrub bar displayed the time that you have dragging to. If I want to set to a point, I have to guess, let go... see the clock after it adjusts, then move it again, etc. Seeing the clock (even if estimated within a couple of seconds) would be hugely helpful. Example, I want to jump half-time of an NFL game, typically 10 minutes. I can see the current position in the program, but clicking and dragging the shuttle does nothing to the clock display, nor show another; I have to guess at how far 10 minutes is.
- Make the FF/REW advance amounts configurable
I will look into those on the next release. I am working on a sports page for the next release. It will be basic on the first build and improve on later releases .
I have started on adding both to the next release. I should have the new Sports page ready to go later this week.
V1.3.0 Released
In the last release, v1.2.9, I introduced a bug in the updater that will cause it to not work. This bug has been fixed in the latest release, but you will have to manually download and install v1.3.0. I deleted the Click method for the updater links when I was adding the light theme to the files.
I'll make another post with the changes made.
V1.3.0 Changes
-
Added Sports View: The sports view has an Add Sports dropdown that will sort the content for your selected sports. There is a toggle in the settings to stop the live games from displaying the score in the tiles if you prefer to not see it. I will add more scores and improvements in later releases. Currently, NFL, College Football, NHL, NBA, WNBA, MLB are the only scores I am pulling in and they only display when the event is live.
-
Player Enhancements: I improved the time on the scrub bar and added adjustable time on the FF/RW in the Settings page.
-
Nav Bar Adjustments: I moved the Exit HTPC button to the bottom of the settings page to make room for the Sports nav pill. If you need to exit the system, the esc key or remote back button will exit the HTPC.
-
Bug Fixes: I fixed a few bugs I introduced when adding the theme system to the project.
Exit is missing from the home screen and it would be nice to have it and/or home on every memu.
