Hi I am trying to get philo to work. I updated channels on my computer and the app and still not working. I keep getting playback failed and the other one below on my ipad. Please help as I am kinda new and not sure what to do..thank you for help 
Your DVR is not configured correctly it seems. Or the USB drive has become detached.

If you open Finder and go to /Volumes what does it show? Is My Book there? And what's inside My Book in Finder?

What I would suggest is this:
- in finder, inside My Book, right click on "D/\DVR" and select rename, and change it just to "DVR"
- in the web UI, uncheck the dvr checkbox, then underneath change it to "/Volumes/My Book/DVR" and recheck the checkbox
should I put parentheses well or does it nor matter?
No quotes or parenthesis, just DVR

Ok you are awesome!!! Thank you so much, it is working now. I really appreciate it. now if I could only figure out how to get local channels. I miss Locust. Would you happen to know which HomeDVR i should get? Is siliconeDust ok? Again thank you for all your help!!!

Before you invest in a ota tuner are you confident you can receive locals with an antenna? Do you have an antenna currently? If not you can use this site to check signals and to choose the proper antenna. DTV Reception Maps | Federal Communications Commission
Since you already have Channels DVR setup for TVE through Philo, have you tried enabling this on the DVR web UI settings?
Can I ask what that would do? I am new to this, I am sorry
Hi I do not have an Antenna now, but I did and got quite a few channels. But I need to find out which one to get now as that was a long time ago. And if I can put in my attic. I also need to figure out what else I need. Still new and learning how to use channels..
This would enable local channels through tve if they are available to you. Definitely try enabling and rescan tve. You may not need a tuner and antenna

I’m not entirely sure if you need to rescan but if they do not show up then Yes click the gear next to philo and rescan. Then click same gear and redownload guide data
