Provider - DirecTV

I've been getting the following message with some channels that should be included in my Directv package:

notAuthorized: 0033:The customer is not authorized for the content requested

I've tried refreshing my DTV receiver but to no avail. Has anyone encountered something similar?

There’s lots of mentions of that error on DirecTV’s forums though I’ve never run into it and DTV is my TVE source.

Having the same issue and have tried everything I can think of to fix it to no avail. Seems like it’s something server side on directvs end. Not sure what to do to fix it.

I just spent 25 minutes in a chat trying to get the representative to lay out the monthly costs for the CHOICE package and came away with very little information. For any DirecTV Stream subscribers, could you share what you are paying monthly for a package like CHOICE, and what are the additional fees and costs that they can't seem to share up front? Best I could find, for a new subscriber, month 4 would be about $115 + taxes, but I'm not sure if that includes their "regional sports fee."

Please advise.

I believe that includes the Regional Sports Fee (for me it is $15.99 note: the fee may change based on Zip Code).

The Choice Package is around ~$90 (discounted price until sometime in 2027)
add in the sport fee brings it to ~$105.
With taxes added ~$120

I chose DirecTV because it had TVE support for some channels that others didn't.

Just signed up less than 2 weeks ago for DirecTV Stream Premier:

Seemed like a good deal with lots of channels and streaming services included. Now my TV billing is simplified with one bill instead of paying for services separately.

I went with their Gemini Air device to give it a try. I really like it. As a nice bonus, the remote controls the TV (on/off) + Sonos soundbar. Before, had to use 3 different remotes. And it is backlit. I think I will keep it.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, very helpful!

The only other thing that seemed quite ambiguous was whether I'd be signing up for a month-to-month agreement or a 2 year contract. When I researched that, it was really difficult to distinguish how to order the service for month-to-month and purposely avoid a $20/month for x-months cancellation fee (should I decide to terminate early). Any knowledge or experience in that regard?

That's the confusing part. You have to make sure you sign up for DirecTV Stream (no contract) and not for DirecTV via Internet (with contract).

If you start at DirecTV Stream you should be fine.

I just found out something about DirecTV in relation to PrismCast.

I didn't read any posts about anyone else having this issue but there is a limitation using DirecTV as to how many concurrent live browser tabs you can have open, 1. I didn't have problems with TVE but with PrismCast I couldn't tune more than one channel.

I chose DirecTV because I felt it had the best TVE options for the channels I wanted to watch/record.

The one stream issue with DirecTV in PrismCast is noted in the PrismCast topic.
