Provider - Hulu Live TV

Hope you have better luck with spectrum and tve than I did. I moved to Hulu from spectrum because spectrum had been slow to keep my credentials up to date. I would lose channels and while trying a rescan it would say not in my package. A couple of days later a rescan would be successful. A month later it all started over again. Beyond losing Hulu the one time with a required password reset it has been solid.

I've had Spectrum TV Essentials ever since I started with Hulu to pickup all the channels Hulu was missing. Through all this mess, Spectrum TVE has not faulted once.

EDIT: I am however having trouble getting Magnolia to authenticate.

Scratch that request - it should be working fine for any Hulu user (that has the entertainment add-on). I never had Magnolia thru Hulu, it's always been through Spectrum.

It looks like, unlike me, it’s now working for you, but I’ll still answer your question. At first, I only got the login error screen that you described. Later, I started getting the image of the verification screen. I now see that the difference in when I get one error, instead of the other, is determined by which browser I’m using to access Channels.

Damn, updated to the latest pre-release server, 2023.04.24.1348, and immediately back to getting verification emails from Hulu. Nothing will tune, so looks like I'll have to delete Hulu as a source, and try to find a way to add it back. :rage:

Nothing I've tried will get Hulu back as a source in Channels. Guess it's time to move on from Hulu. Which isn't the worst thing in the world, I guess. Having issues with the actual Hulu app on my nVidia Shield. Keep getting the P-DEV320 error. Adios Hulu.

With the latest update (2023.05.01.1603) I got TCMP and realized I lost all my discovery channels with Cable provider authentication failed. So tried removing and readding Hulu as TVE provider - now continually getting Cable provider authentication failed. Tried changing password and still no luck. Can log in fine from TVE sources directly just not through channels

Do you see any errors when you go to Support > Troubleshooting in the DVR web UI?
Like for your old Chrome version...

I would suggest making sure your device's running channels have good DNS.
I have my Synology and found that I wasn't getting Reelz on TVE. I resolved the problem by updating the name servers used by Synology to Google servers, and Reelz came right back.
if the system hangs during the channel scan, authentication may fail.

So went ahead and upgraded my docker and problem still persists:

Gives an error as if the password is incorrect. Tried multiple attempts to change the password and still no luck

Try logging in to Hulu web page and watch the discovery channel for a couple minutes. Then try to rescan

Did a bit more testing - seems like I am unable to log in via chrome incognito mode as well so may be something changed on Hulu side?

Does Channels use chrome in an incognito state, and would this explain why I am no longer able to login via Channels TVE?

FYI, Spectrum never did get it working correctly. :worried:

Is there any way to make Channels DVR show up as a device and generate a code to activate it instead of logging into Hulu with a username/password? Have the script wait to be activated and we could just go to Hulu's device activation url and enter the code Channels displays to add it to the account? Just a thought as this issue is really upsetting to the "older" users in the home that don't like change.
