Watching Magnolia on the website right now using Xfinity.
Right below the video are logos for each of their networks, clicking any one plays that channel for me.
Yep, thanks. I tried all the other channels and they work fine, just not Magnolia, with either my Spectrum or my Hulu login.
I'm in a chat with Discovery Digital TVE right now trying to get it resolved.
EDIT: Eventually Discovery kicked me to a Magnolia chat, and they both believe there is no problem. Additionally, I didn't have the entertainment add-on in Hulu, so the Hulu comparison wasn't valid.
After contacting Spectrum, Discovery, and Magnolia, I was getting some honest replies from the Discovery folks, but they couldn't resolve the authentication with Spectrum . Spectrum honestly doesn't give a rats ass if their programming actually works, as long as you keep paying them.
At the end of the day, I added Philo and will dump Spectrum first chance I get. Clearly that empire is crumbling.
Does Channels with TVE Spectrum let me pause, rewind and step-by-step forward/backwards playback of channels like ESPN? Like, if I want to skip 30 seconds back on a live football game? And then playback frame-by-frame?
Yes you can pause skip 3,7,15,or 30sec forward and back but channels does not currently support frame by frame.
Spectrum and Disney couldn't come to a new agreement, and so all Disney and ESPN channels have gone dark. Trying to view ESPN gives the message:
"notAuthorized: The ESPN networks are no longer part of your video lineup. Don't miss College Football, Monday Night Football, MLB, NHL, NBA, SportsCenter and more. Get ESPN Back: Go to KeepMyESPN.com for more information."
Spectrum tells their side of the story at DisneyEspnFairDeal.com.
There's going to be a lot of grumpy CFB fans this weekend (myself included).
My E$PN is still working but who knows how long. I tried to use my Spectrum credentials on the ESPN app and it didn't work. Doesn't work on Spectrum App either. I am sure they will work something out, it is just a matter of time.
Hopefully they can reach an agreement soon.
TVE is down, cablecard stuff is down. Which channels/networks exactly will this affect?
ESPN is still working, presumably because I was already logged in. ABC local stopped working.
ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPNU, ESPN News, SEC Network, ACC Network, Longhorn Network, FX, FX Movie Channel, FXX, Freeform, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, BabyTV
ABC On Demand programming and the following local ABC stations: ABC7 Chicago, ABC7 Los Angeles, ABC7 New York, ABC7 San Francisco, ABC11 Raleigh-Durham, ABC13 Houston, ABC30 Fresno.
Thanks for listing them out.
What are y’all doing temporarily to get ESPN back?
After some deliberation, I am cancelling Spectrum and moving to FuboTV. They look to have the best sports option and provide a good quality feed.
The only thing I am missing are the turner networks TBS, TNT, etc, but for me those are only for NBA, so plan to cover with NBA League Pass.
In addition, I have decided to cancel my bundled Hulu and Disney+, but will keep espn+. I already own all the movies I like, and their streaming content has not been very compelling to me of late.
I have always been very happy with Spectrum, and I support what I understand is their objectives on all of this. But, blacking me out on US Open and CFB opening weekend is unforgivable.
I just wish there was a way to get sports w/o giving ESPN any money.
I can't make any major moves til next month because I need Ballys for baseball, and my current Spectrum deal is sweeter than any streaming alternative. Thankfully, I'm only missing 1-2 ESPN games per week, and at the moment, I'm content to listen to radio and watch the condensed game later. If we're still in this situation come October, I'll switch (probably to Sling at first), but I really hope that cooler heads prevail.
Fubo TV has Bally and the cheapest plan is $72 a month I believe. Looking into switch with them.
How are you guys watching, or planning to watch Ballys? Do you use their own app?
Nothing for the moment. Hopefully wait this one out, although that scathing Spectrum letter seems like it might not simply be a matter of time any more.
I’m currently just watching Highlights because Bally’s subscription is way to high for $20 a month.
What did the letter say? Shoot Spectrum is losing so may customers during this time. I have seen so many customers cancel there service and subscribe elsewhere. It’s funny that they are offering a Fubo subscription for $20 off for two months.
There used to be a little 'glitch' with Fubo and Channels. You could subscribe to Fubo and paid for one period then put the subscription on pause and the Fubo app and web access would show as blocked for pause but external access didn't update to be blocked. Channels would still work just fine.
