No, the toggling of the checkmark rescans the local channels.
... and i suppose if it's already checked, uncheck it and check it again (after making sure you're connecting via https + location services enabled)
You have to disable auto-authentication on that internet-only account.
I sent an email on 8/1 to support.
It hit me again today causing a recording to fail.
I captured the html pages again today when I logged in to correct the issue.
Do you need me to email the html pages again?
If you need diagnostics, I submitted them on this issue, same Channels DVR server
Had some channels stop working, but I figured out what was causing it and thought I'd share.
I use a sub-user, Channels-only, account for the dvr. Yesterday I noticed I was getting 2-factor type texts when I tried (and failed) to watch certain channels. I had done nothing to enable 2-factor authentication on this sub-user account, but apparently Xfinity just decided to require it. The only way to disable this was to remove the mobile phone number from the account, which I did. But it still didn't work. Then I saw that the user account was a "manager" account that had billing privileges, so I downgraded it to a "member" account, and it seems to have fixed everything.
probably common knowledge around here, but thought it couldn't hurt to share.
You found out the hard way.
It's mentioned in the first post of this thread.
I know, and I knew that -- I've been using Channels successfully for a year because I did disable 2-factor authentication many many months ago. I posted because suddenly 2-factor authentication got activated without me doing anything, so I thought people might be interested in that. Not you, obviously, because you already know everything, but other people.
A few weeks ago my member account just randomly turned on two-factor authentication all by itself as well. I had not made any changes to the account. I didn’t have to remove the mobile phone number to disable it, but I did have to go back into my account and turn it off. Even though it had been off for over a year, and even though I did not turn it on. I think Xfinity is messing with some settings.
Perhaps the reason for those having the issue is that you chose the role of Member
for your Channels DVR user. I chose Viewer
for mine.
I seem to be getting a lot of this even though the Channels are Authorized ...

getting error notAuthorized: This network is not included in your current television subscription. Please contact your TV provider to subscribe. Access not Authorized
NBC, ABC, FOX, Cspan etc.
DVR Version 2022.09.08.1848
That error is coming from Xfinity and means what it says.
Does it work for you on Watch the NBCUniversal Networks Live Stream - NBC.com or on https://www.xfinity.com/stream/
If you're using an Xfinity login from another service address, then you would need to make sure Auto-Authentication is disabled on your internet service account.
NBCUniversal says I need to add this.
Xfinity stream works fine.
So I guess I should call Xfinity.
They sent a reset signal and all appears to be working again.
Thanks for the quick reply as usual! You guys are AWESOME !!!
I am unable to authenticate my Xfinity account via Channels - I keep on getting an error with a screenshot of a login page. I'm using a sub-account without 2FA. Any thoughts? I've updated to the latest pre-release version as part of my troubleshoot.
Can you watch your local NBC station here using the same username and passowrd?
