Having the same issue.

I just submitted logs under the ticket 5dc999ac-0ea1-4f07-a476-39efdc2f864c.

There’s a new bug that has shown up on Channels that has broken my xfinity / Comcast connection to some of my TVE channels. A few of the stations showing the problem are CNN and TruTV. I know both are in my subscription and I can get them by going to the apps within Apple TV and authenticating properly.

What’s happening is your latest build is getting an error with ERR_UNKNOWN_URL_SCHEME when trying to authenticate the channels. I know you can see it all in the logs I submitted but here’s the exact examples of the logs where the error occurs.

Also, you have a second bug with Xfinity that once every few weeks or so, this problem happens when I try and tune in a channel and it says Login form prohibited. The fix is to re-scan all the channels and usually it fixes it. Now it clearly is having problems with a few of the channels in the line up with that same error. Clearly something changed and you guys need to update your scripts.

Also when I do a full scan it’s taking literally 30+ minutes. Probably because of these errors it’s timing out and because there are so many that have this error is tied to it.

Right now, I have to go into my apple TV into the dedicated channels to watch them vs. seeing them directly within the Channels DVR application. Can you please look into this and let me know how fast you can fix this issue.

Here's all the channels I'm currently not getting that I should. I've provided pictorial representations for dramatic effect. Pretty good chunk of good channels not working there, but hey, qvc, and the news from distant cities, just great!

And I'm assuming this is completely out of our control other than the basic stuff the UI allows?

Listing channels, is irrelevant really, since all channels powered by Xinfity would not work.
The only time a channel or 2 may still stream is cause the auth is cached and not yet tried to re-auth.

I have many Cable Cannels that are working just the ones that were posted above are not working. I removed and re-added the source did a full rescan and most cable channels are working except for those posted.

Got the same issue a few weeks back. Had to uninstalled Channels DVR and rolled back to the Stable Release and it started to work again.

In February got two password reset notifications from Comcast a week apart. Most of the time I would reset my sub Xfinity account password (to same password) and remove/add the Xfinity TVE source that would work most of the times. If that doesn’t do the trick try to uninstall and roll back to the Stable Release version that may help.

Tried the uninstall and reinstall. It didn't work. This is getting really frustrating. Is there no solution to this problem?

@tmm1 i see a pre-release just came out. is that an attempt to fix xfinity tve login issues? i'm afraid to try it randomly for fear of resetting the supposed 48 hour lockout.

When i go to https://login.xfinity.com/login in Chrome, it accepts my login username and password just fine., however, it then loads the home comcast page, and has the Sign In in the upper right, so it appears it is not signed in. Clicking sign in, just reloads the same page and then it shows i am signed in.

So....have not seen any responses from the devs...(other than in my thread, asking me what version of Chromium i had last on my other server) .are they even trying to address this?

I guess that means, Xifinty is just no longer compatible with Channels?

I use Xfinity for 22 TVE channels....the rest i get via Philo.
i don't think there is any other one source, that is not a cable company, that i could use to get them.

EDIT: Deleted Xfinity as tve source, tried to re-add.../same. wont add it back. same error Cable provide auth failed. tried long pressing the Sign in button in channels. nope

Edit2: i can use Xfinty to login into NBC live stream, diseny app, etc. tried a few. works fine.

Issue has to be with Channels.

I'm in the same boat, although I'm using Docker so it's even more a Channels problem than usual.

It's a multifaceted issue of

  1. Comcast cracking down on non-2fa accounts and forcing password resets more frequently
  2. Channels not supporting 2FA at all
  3. Channels having serious issues logging into Comcast services, where it will randomly work only every few days.

An extra comcast box for me is only $8, and as much as I really really love Channels and have been using is for over a year, I'm seriously considering switching to the box.

Copying the sp.auth.adobe link for the sign-in page, signing in results in a blank page with the text SC 404. Going to assume that's their weird 404 page. In that case, is there not a better page to get the auth token from?

Funny you mention Comcast 2FA. after i reset my password, it did pop up that screen asking me to enable it, and i clicked NO not now...and gues what, it Still enabled it, thanking me for doing so.
I went back into the account settings and disabled it.

did you do this with v 2021.03.21.2309 ?

I wish a Developer would Chime I just about had it with TVE.

Got the password reset problem. Reset that. Updated to the latest prerelease, logged in with the new credentials annnnnnnd

Not a very good outcome.

Pretty shady to not even respond about all these issues and / or shift the blame to some 'out of channels control" bullshit. Already had to get rid of that fuckin purple garbage in the app, now the ONLY selling point to me for Channels doesn't work.
