Provider - Xfinity

I didn't read the instructions regarding 2FA before trying to setup TV Everywhere, and once I realized what was happening, there didn't seem to be any way to stop the setup process. It would be great to detect this failure condition and stop immediately, or else add a way to cancel setup.

Good idea on detecting this case. Can you email us the logs so we can find something to stall out on. [email protected]

seems nbc has removed access to the east coast streams for us on the west coast (and i'm assuming vice versa for those in the east). i'm now getting "TVE: unavailable in current location" for syfy, oxygen, universal kids, bravo and usa on the east coast feeds. this was working previously, so something has changed between 3 weeks ago when i first started with channels and did my initial scan and today. if i open the USA channel on my roku, all i can see now is the west coast feeds (they previously both showed up).

i'm hoping this is temporary, because if not it's incredibly annoying given that we get the east coast feeds anyway with at&t tv now.

I notice that 6041 TOONHD (Cartoon Network) is giving a display of "Off Air Watch Live 9P-6A".

That feels it is a CN Adult Swim only stream channel, but Channels TVE is seeing it as the normal Cartoon Network channel with Guide Data. They have the same Guide Data, and it is correct, and the channel does stream normal programming starting at 9p (eastern).

I checked on the Xfinity Stream site, and TOONHD is not part of the TV GO channels, it says you have to be on your home wifi to watch channel.

Not sure if TOONHD is supported by TVE or not, or if Channels is mis identifying it.

EDIT: I also get "Tuner not responding for 6003 ABC.
TVE-Comcast_SSO ch6003 ABC: TVE: unimplemented channel

EDIT 2: 6112 Destination America has issues. Some times it just take forver to load, plays then stops. It is very often just stopping when it goes to comerical break.
Error during stream TVE-Comcast_SSO ch6112 DESTINATION-AMERICA: Failed to download file: https://x-default-stgec.uplynk.com/ausw/slices/8f8/4f59ea65df184a2580ad8fc80d3eaa32/8f8cf9611d404ca7b87d8c610e216f6b/H00000001.ts?pbs=f8061ee512ad4a24bd40100dd755918a&_jt=l&chid=db762a708aa64082a610346d36654186&oid=e6cf0c55dac249f0a0f72e7c72e6f6cb&si=4: 403 Forbidden

ANd chann 6113 Discovery LIFE does this. stops at commercial breaks.

EDIT: ok most of TVE channs are now doing this. must be some issues somewhere.

I just signed up and this same thing is happening to me as well, through the browser in an attempt to verify my TVE login, it is continually hanging when attempting to verify the channels.

If you're using SHIELD then update your dvr by click-and-hold on the Update button and reboot the shield

Channels DVR Server was making my shield run really slowly, so I'm attempting to host the server on a spare Windows computer now.

I'm getting several 'chrome auth_timed_out' errors when trying to scan for TVE with Xfinity. Is there a way to help get around that issue?

One thing I did was created a limited account just to use for TVE.

2fa is disabled; turned off auto authentication but still cannot login. I always get a ā€œnot in subscriptionā€ message but the xfinity stream app works fine. Hereā€™s my log

You have to disable auto authentication on the xfinity account that you use for your home internet.

I had that happen with xfinity as well, I had to change my subscription level with them to make it work. The cheapest plan would let me stream through the xfinity app, but I couldn't log on to TVE providers with my xfinity login.

Once I changed the sub, then it all worked fine. Xfinity doesn't tell you this, it's something I found out through trial and error. They kept telling me if the Stream app was working, all was good, they didn't understand anything about TVE.

I am having this same type of error and not being able to sign in TVE for Xfinity keep getting "Content Canceled" error My Log

Didn't follow the disable auto authentication on the xfinity home internet page or Keno Suggestion on changing the subscription level (in other words what is a subscription level?

Thanks

Please click and hold on the Check for Update button on the dvr web UI on your shield.

AWESOME! it worked! thanks

Hi Guys, I'm having trouble adding Xfinity as a source. I've disabled 2FA and created a sub account without billing privileges.

I keep running up against the not in subscription screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You need to disable auto-authentication on the xfinity account that provides your internet. Also it looks like in the screenshot you're hitting an invalid user/pass error and not the missing subscription.

Might not be the same issue but I had trouble with the actual Xfinity stream app on my phone. Even though it worked several weeks ago, any time I tried to watch the stations available with my cable package it would tell me Iā€™m not subscribed - call xfinity to have these stations added to your package.

I ended up having to call them and they simply had to push through the authentication... whatever that means. It worked flawlessly for the last several years, nothing changed on my end... I guess they just wanted me to call.

I would suggest trying the xfinity stream app and see if it gives you access. If it doesnā€™t, then you need to call them. If it does, then the suggestion in the post above is probably your solution.

Hey all, I'm a former Channels user. I'm considering coming back. The one thing I need to know about TVE and Xfinity is if TVE is using TV Go streams or the streams available when you're on your home network? The reason I ask is data from TV Go streams count against your internet data cap, and the others do not.

Thanks!

Not every plan on xfinity will allow for TV everywhere, I found this out the hard way. But, with my extreme internet needs, I still found them to be most economical for the cable stations I want. I then use my antenna where most of the TV I watch comes from with channels to keep my data lower.

But, it just wasnā€™t to be. I needed unlimited data so I paid the extra 15/month with the xFi advanced gateway to get unlimited data. The modem/router is sub-par, but itā€™s cheaper than the $50 a month for unlimited without their gateway.

Iā€™m still saving, as the TV add on is cheaper than any of the other streaming services (especially if you want my regional sports) and I prefer the channels interface over many others.
