PS Vue Shutting Down Jan. 30, 2020

A shame. It is my favorite.

Anyone know of any streaming providers which the Warner TVE Channels work on Channels DVR. Looks like I any many others need new provider. !@#$.

Don't think any other OTT provider. Luckily for me I have TNT and TBS in my Spectrum Choice package. Right now I'm using Hulu live.

You tube tv is next unless they can find a way to add advertising. No money in TV

You can' only get that with Cable Subscription right. Its not just streaming service.

Correct you need Spectrum Cable. I don't get why Warner is so stingy about their tv everywhere access. I was hoping ATT buying them it would change, but they don't even have access.

Same with A&E and their networks. Can't stream those freely either.

A+E Networks don't provide live streams, so they are incompatible with Channels TVE implementation.

Looks like I'll have to run SageTV with cable access for a while longer. Too bad for Channels DVR, it was good while it lasted.

Channels DVR works fine with CableCARD tuners. There's nothing stopping you switching from SageTV if you're using HDHR Prime tuners.

Because Spectrum (previously Time Warner) encrypts 90% of their cable channels, I do not see how to make that work in this system. In SageTV I can use all types of tuners to capture video and audio and feed it into Sage.

... unless you know something we don't about Channels DVR and tuners like the Hauppauge 1212 and 1512.

EDIT: I used the word "encrypt" ... to clarify, they implement a copy-once flag on 90% of their channels.

So there is no confusion with new users that may wander into this area, Channels DVR only works fine with cablecard tuners for services that are provided copy-freely. If you are part of the old Time Warner or Brighthouse part of what is now called Charter Spectrum, you will only be able to use Channels DVR to record your local affiliate channels - nothing more. As of right now, I'm not aware of any cable service that will broadcast their premium channels (HBO, Showtime, etc) copy freely, so that's completely out.

True, only non-DRM CableCARD channels are available outside of WMC for recording. But that is nothing new: To my knowledge SageTV has never supported the recording and playback of DRM-flagged content.

Also, to clarify my previous point: Channels DVR only works with SiliconDust hardware tuners. If you have Hauppage WinTV or Ceton InfitiTV tuners or similar, they do not work with Channels.

I'm putting my two cents worth here. I'm using channels for the benefit to record OTA channels. Tivo Bolt no longer serves my needs plus they are going to add ads to recorded content. TVE was not available and I was happy to use YouTube TV and Channels. I was a Spectrum subscriber and was happy with it until the beginning of the year when they changed their packages and charging 30 bucks more for less channels. Plus the ever increasing Broadcast Fees and Regional Sports Fees every two months. I don't know about most users here but having a device that uses cable-card is not cord cutting. You're still paying those idiotic fees for broadcast which I can get 10 times more than they provide and are free. Spectrum doesn't give you the choice to have their service without locals. Also not paying monthly to rent their crappy DVR's with two tuners at 15 bucks + 7 dollars for DVR service, paying channels with 8 dollars of it, is savings for me. TVE was just a added benefit and if for some reason Channels decide to omit it from the Application due to all this whining about not being able to watch certain channels, I wouldn't blame them. I believe cable is dead and network streaming is here to stay. Its just going to cost more in the long run. I don't see how these networks are going to survive if they all start streaming their own content. If TVE goes away I've lost nothing. Still have the YouTube TV. 50 bucks is better than 218 bucks.

Spectrum doesn’t require a cable box, so a connect works fine with TVE. Just won’t be able to record A@E.

So as a spectrum customer, we're only missing one channel with TVE (A&E)?

Been using FuboTV. They have a lot of tv everywhere intergrations.

All A@E that includes History, Lifetime.

What package is that. I see only Streaming service with 25 channels and no TVE support. I just signed up for 7 day trial to see whats avilable on TVE and no TVE app support.
