"Recording Interrupted" Cause?

I have had a few recordings recently that have a warning saying they were interrupted on TVE channels via DTV. I looked into the logs and saw some timeouts where the connection is lost - any sense for what could be causing these timeouts? The recording does seem to kick back on a few minutes later...

I get this message on a lot of recordings. I don't know why, but it seems to be when I have overlapping recordings. One recording and then a second starts later. I get a Recording Interrupted Icon in the DVR Recordings list.

I thought it was just an error without issue as well, but when I go to the actual recording it is in fact missing a chunk of time kind of as the logs indicate. Any thoughts for what could have caused this timeout?

Usually due to vpn or custom dns

Iā€™m not on a VPN and am using googles DNS. Any other ideas?

I just started receiving over 70 occurances the following error message over the past 4 day:
Cancelling stream TVE-Hulu ch6104 after no data was received for 2m0s
Cancelling stream TVE-Hulu ch6001 after no data was received for 2m0s
Cancelling stream TVE-Hulu ch6102 after no data was received for 2m0s

I have a FIOS 1GB internet connection, so I'm guessing that's hopefully not causing the problem.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue?

What do the logs say?

For some reason, after 2 minutes they still were not sending any data. No offense, but the reason is quite explicit for why there was a recording issue.

Without further details or actual log entries, anything more will be just a guess.

Really? I was going to go the other direction and say it was network issues. The constant timeouts to me indicated a problem on the network end; but the bad buffer stats indicate it could have also been drive issues. Perhaps both.

In either case, this is a "you" issue, not a software issue.

Odd. This is the first time I've had this issue. I'm running Channels DVR on a QNAP TS-264 with 8GB Ram and two Seagate IronWolf 8TB NAS Hard Drive SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM 256MB Cache for RAID Network Attached Storage.

Any suggestions how to remedy the buffering issue?

What's also odd is that at the same time I was recording a show OTA on my HDHomerun with had no issues with buffering. Only the TVE shows had to buffering issue.

The fact that you are successfully recording from your HDHomerun and getting timeouts like the one above indicates a network issue and that the path between your HDHomerun and your server are fine. If you don't have issues streaming or visiting other sites, then there was a temporary Internet issue. If you are having other internet issues, I'd talk to Verizon support. Particularly if you are using there router. If you use your own router, you need to prove it good and if it's good, then talk to Verizon.

I wonder if you're not being a bit too aggressive with your Comskip processing. Maybe try backing off on the number of threads you're allowing Comskip to use:

I get good results with 1 thread running in a Proxmox VM. Keeps temps down too:

Thank you everyone for your help. I think I have the problem solved. I just ran a test recording 6 shows at once, 4 from TVE and 2 from HDHomerun. No buffering or dropped issues! See below:
