Recording not marked as viewed if viewing starts while recording is in progress

As the title says. If I start viewing a show while it is being recorded and watch it in its entirety it will not be marked as viewed.

It seems the problem might be with repurposing a single counter for recoding/viewing instead of having two separate counters and choosing to show one or the other.

I'm not seeing that.
Started watching a 30 minute show as it was recording.
When I finished watching, "PlaybackTime": #seconds was removed and "Watched": true appeared in the files json for the recording.

What counters are you talking about?

Only thing I can think of is yours wasn't watched to the end. I know they use some percentage of the full duration to determine if it's watched and that it varies by type of recording.

See what these values in the recorded files json show for that recording.
"PlaybackTime": 1143
"Duration": 1801.386833

When I fully watch this one to the end, the value "PlaybackTime" goes away and "Watched": true appears.

For this one recording, at PlaybackTime 1734 seconds it gets marked as Watched.

This might be more of the GUI issue. After viewing the show, it is listed in the Recordings with an empty green circle. Client is Apple TV:

Channels v5.6.5
Apple TV 4K
tvOS 16.5

I noticed it couple of times recently. I also have

Start live detection when watching in-progress recording

checked. Not a high priority. If nobody else sees it, it is probably not worth pursuing.

Since you mention Apple TV, it may be related to this
