WOW! I was about to start a new thread about this issue i’m having too. I have been able to play remote via web player flawlessly until recently. Now when I try to watch anything using the web player it will play for maybe 10 seconds and then stop. Some times it plays for a few more seconds but most of the time it never resumes. I initially was using Transcoder:Hardware, Quality: 480@1mbps, Deinterlacer: Blend. So I changed it to the lowest quality and it was working a bit better but eventually stops. The transcoder shows that it’s working at the bottom of the screen but there’s no motion. I’m using my iPhone 6s and Safari. My NAS is a WD PR2100. @tmm1 has anything changed on the web player recently? It maybe my NAS upload connection but thought I would ask before I started troubleshooting it. Thanks.
Have you tried streaming inside your home network to compare?
On my network it plays perfectly. I may reboot my NAS and see if that resolves it.
After doing some more testing and checking the logs, I see that the transcoder is pausing during playback via web player remotely. In the activity section it displays the show that I’m watching and that the transcoder has paused.
Are you watching a recording or live tv?
In the web UI, it shows the transcoder status underneath the player. It is normal for the transcoder to pause while watching recordings… the playback is independent of the transcoder.
If things work inside your network, then the issue is either with your upload or download bandwidth.
It happens on either live or recorded shows. It maybe my upload speed. I will do some more testing and see what I can find out on my end. Thanks for the feedback!
It was my upload speed that was causing the problem. It’s only getting .80mbps up!
