The styling of closed captions and subtitles on Apple TV respects the stylings made in Settings.app — except the font used. It’s always what I assume is the Channels default (Courier, maybe? something monospace) no matter what. Is this by design? Is it possible to change the font/type face of the captions?
I think the subtitles font is a standard broadcast font which can’t be changed.
To save opening a new thread, I'm also looking for the setting to control how subtitles (which aren't hardcoded, obviously) from local media appear in Channels.
On tvOS the appearance of subtitles is set (mostly) via the accessibility settings, there is a thread from 2018 in which it seems the beta version of Channels would respect these settings but five years later Channels doesn't seem to at present reverting to using a large mono-spaced font.
Is there a setting hidden somewhere I am missing? I couldn't see anything in the advanced playback menu on the server.
