I've got a question kind of related to this topic...one issue when matching to TMDB is that all of their posters are 2:3. When matching to Gracenote, the posters are 4:3.
I know it's been previously stated that shows will always stay 4:3 and movies 2:3, but wondering if this might change in the future?
I really want to try and move everything over to Channels (from Plex), but stuff like getting good matches and nice posters really is a hinderance to that.
This is the main reason that we still match TV with Gracenote first.
Try matching to Gracenote first, then you'll have the correct art, then match with TMDB. Or, just match with TMDB, and add your own art for the show that is 4:3.
In the future, we plan to change this, but we're not there yet.
Is there a trick to find shows on Gracenote that don't match properly?
For example, this show from Australia (Black Snow) doesn't match on Gracenote at all - unless there's another way to search other than show name?
Actually I figured out how to use Zap2It and get the proper SHO ID from the URL.
Just curious - why does searching on Zap2It work but not via Channels? Aren't they both using Gracenote?
