TrueNAS Scale Docker from Community TVE Error: Chrome failed chrome_crashpad_handler: --database is required

Migrated over from TrueNAS Core a few weeks ago to TN Scale Docker Community app with no issues. Worked great for weeks...now seeing DirecTV Stream TVE issues. Started with Discovery channels and now present on all TVE after rescan.

Example Error: 2025/06/09 19:18:09.441347 [ERR] Could not start stream for TVE-ATTOTT ch6143 ESPNEWS: TVE: chrome failed to start:
chrome_crashpad_handler: --database is required

Example ReScan Error: "2025/06/09 19:07:10.735223 [TVE] Channel scan ESPNU failed: chrome failed to start:
chrome_crashpad_handler: --database is required"

Seems it could be a Docker permissions issue or Chrome version issue. Wondering if others on using Docker image from "https://hub.docker.com/r/fancybits/channels-dvr" are seeing the same issue.

Just something quick to check. Click on Support -> Troubleshooting and see if Chrome version you are on is 114. It will have an update button if you are on any version lower than that.

Thanks for that.

Support -> Troubleshooting shows Chrome installation corrupted. Please re-install Chrome.
After clicking "Click Here to upgrade Chrome" the problem persists. The log comes back with:
2025/06/10 18:29:57.747872 [TVE] chromedp-chroot already up to date

Did you try doing it again to see if the click here for update has gone away? Otherwise not really sure what else to do. I thought there was some old posts about chrome being corrupted.

Yes, tried multiple times. After the first failed TVE auth Chrome shows as corrupted again.

I did find this old post with similar issue though... Flaky Chrome failures for server running in rootless podman

Yeah but that has to do with installing the wrong image using latest vs tve version. Not sure if that is what you did or not? Also i wouldnt think core and scale would be backwards compatible. Isnt jails used in core and scale uses docker?
