Tuner not available, server is idle

Trying to watch Comedy Central and it says tuner not available. I just submitted logs from the server and Apple TV. Remote viewing. Any ideas?

Thanks

It does work when I just tested another channel. But not Comedy Central.

What about a different ViacomCBS channel? MTV? Paramount? TV Land?

Some channels seem to work and some don’t.

any update for this? Now it seems to be working. Just weird that it would works now and didn't last night.

There was some issue with your cable signal for that channel.

I recently put in another HD prime and put a 3 way splitter for the coax. Think a power splitter would help with the signal?

This happened again tonight. I submitted logs from the server and ATV. Seems to be happening on all channels. One show is recording and it seems that it’s the only one I can watch.

HDHR is not sending video data

Sounds like your HDHR tuners are getting the cable channels, but having issues delivering it over your network. I would recommend running a network packet loss test against your HDHR tuners.

Just wondering why it would work fine for a show that’s recording and not any other channels. I have 3 HDHR’s seems like one of them should’ve been fine.

Could be a specific HDHR unit or a specific tuner within it.
The pps value is packets per second sent through the network.
For an 8Mbps stream the pps should be averaging 700-800, not 21.

While you're running the network packet loss test, you can look at the debug status of that tuner.
https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/hdhomerun_config#checking_the_signal_strength

More advanced information can be obtained by using the get debug command:

format: hdhomerun_config get /tuner/debug
eg: hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF get /tuner0/debug

Example output:
tun: ch=qam:33 lock=qam256 ss=84 snq=88 seq=100 dbg=22081-6930
dev: resync=0 overflow=0
ts: bps=38809216 ut=94 te=0 miss=0 crc=0
flt: bps=38809216
net: pps=0 err=0 stop=0

So if I use silicon dust’s app, I can watch the shows no problem. With channels, I cannot. Seems that the HDHR may not be the issue?

Both apps on the same client device using the same network path?

Yes. Was able to use the silicon dust app on the same server pc and no problems.

What @chDVRuser is saying is that you need to try it on the same AppleTV where you are trying to play from Channels.

So, I’m trying to play it remotely; however, when I try to view it remotely on the server itself, it doesn’t work either. When I view the same channel on the server with the silicon dust app, it works.

When I mean, remotely on the server, I’m team viewing in.

I also just tried on the latest beta of the DVR software and no luck either.
