On the iOS YTTV app at least, you can manage your family directly from the app, in the settings area.

I had real problems registering new Google account with my regular web browser, too many cookies from past logins. But I did not want to delete all my cookies either. So I copied the invitation URL into another browser (I have several installed on my machine) and was able to complete the family invitation and register a new Google account for a different email address. I was able to use that new Family member‘s credentials to get YTTV channels into Channels DVR. My confusion was that I did not have 2FA applied my original Google account, but yet they used it anyway, causing the login from Channels to fail every time.
