Is it possible to use channels on a fire tv outside the home network?
I'm able to stream to tablet and mobile via their respective apps just fine. Only way I can get the fire TV app to work outside the home is to create a vpn between the 2 networks and route the channels traffic to my home network. That works but I get a lot of buffering due to the slowness of VPN and I would like to avoid it if possible. Am I missing the obvious?
It works without problem. From the settings, make sure you indicate that you are connecting away from home.
Ugh. I was missing the obvious. I previously tried to auth using the instructions to no avail. Tried again now with no VPN enabled and it worked. Oh well. It at least made me try it again
